  1. Based on fienstein evil list it seems to focus on a pistol grip.  It even mentions pistol grips on semiauto shotguns.  That means a semiauto benelli with a pistol grip is more evil than the same shotgun without a pistol grip.  I just don't understand their reasoning.

As a true story told from firsthand accounts, Black Hawk Down is one of my favorite books of all time, and Ridley Scott did it justice with his film adaptation. Shughart and Gordon are on my list of people I look up to, this scene from the film only scratches the surface of their story.

edit: I should probably put a disclaimer, this is not a happy scene. It's a realistic depiction of events, and there's no theme of victory involved. Viewer discretion advised.

It reminds me of how the army is fond of handing you manure sandwiches and expecting you to make it edible.  A scene from the series The Pacific reminded me just last night about an event in Iraq so I shouldn't have watched this one either

  3. Not them.  Savannah insisted folks wear mask even though the governor said not to.  They have thrived on scaring people.   Even tge news anchor that reported the low virus numbers phrased it as "ALMOST 800" instead of 789 or just over 700 .

  4. Not only was today's cases in the State of Georgia down to 789 cases and ZERO deaths and only 27 went to the hospital , but the local news station said that the Health Department in Savannah would no longer report local case numbers.  That would indicate there are too few to even report.

  5. Once I shipped a cap and ball pistol intra state and the post office figured out it was a gun and held it until I called the lady that had it and explained it was not a gun that could take bullets .  Finally she sent it through to my buyer.

  6. I like that idea.  I went back to the store, saw the wilson on the wall, and went to the auction my kids school was having that night.   In it they were auctioning off the local made AR 15.  It brought 1900 to the school.   I thought to myself how crazy it was to pay 1900 for an AR15 even though the money went to a good cause.   That helped me put the wilson to bed for now.

I will pursue a good optic for an AR and go from there.   We have goats and we have coyotes who eat goats so I need to be accurate,  plus my teenage son is at that age where he likes to try and show me up so I better stay on top of my game.

  7. I wonder if my desire for an expensive AR is so I can make up for failing eye sight.  I've been shooting that type rifle since 1985 but lately I've noticed it takes a shot or 5 or 6 to hit targets further than 100 yards.  I probably have bad habits in old age like Josey Wales' Indian friend.

  8. Never considered daniel.defense.  what price range are they usually?

Thus is why I ask as there may be other options that I had not considered,  and I am having a hard time paying 1900 for an AR these days.

You’re paying for  a hell of a lot more than the name.

Go to Wilson's website and read what goes into theirs versus what goes or does not go into the cheaper AR’s.

Personally I’d buy  a Noveske and have ,before I’d get a Wilson bit hey it’s your money and your itch to scratch!

I'm hoping someone will give me a word of wisdom on why I'm fine with what I have.   I do know that I can tell a big difference between a wilson 1911 and other brands,  even a kimber or sig .  I can also tell a difference between the normal remington 870 shotgun and the wilson built on a remington 870 frame.

One of my best buddies was healthy as an ox at Christmas.  Mid January he caught the Covid...he died a couple weeks ago.

    I grieve him daily.

I know.  We lost one at the church I pastor.  She had breathing problems for years, rarely went anywhere and if she or her husband went somewhere they wore gloves and a mask.  After not getting her hair done for a year, she wore the mask and gloves and got her hair done, got the virus and in 2 weeks she passed.  It happened right after Christmas.  My main thought is to spread the news that cases are down even though the news headlines say the opposite.

  11. I have a fever to buy lately but want to limit it to things I don't have, like a 44-40 lever action, something with a red dot or something I have wanted for a long time, like a Wilson Combat AR-15.

Having said that, are Wilson AR-15 that much better than normal AR15 like the S & W sporting model for example?  A local gunsmith called Vidalia Police Supply builds AR15s with criterion barrels, 2 stage triggers some of the same things a Wilson would have and his are really more accurate than a good S & W or Colt.  Another local store has 2 Wilson's in stock in 5.56 for 1900.  the local guy charges 950.  A S & W is around 800 , same for a Ruger.

Check some of the more populous states with huge cities in them. Cali, New York, Penn., maybe Ill. , numbers are much scarier there:blush:

Yes but we should not base how the rest of the country acts based on isolated areas.

  13. In Georgia,  the state said we had 954 new cases and 2 deaths yesterday.  Thus far in total, less than 8% of the population in our state has gotten the virus in over a year's time.  Less than one percent has died from it.

  14. I never owned a red dot sight.  I worry about dead batteries and not being able to use the iron sights in an emergency.

Today I saw a Sig 365 XL with factory red dot.  It gave me a hankering for a red dot .  Before I decide , does anyone have experience with the 365 ?  Is there a better option out there?

  15. We had a sleep number bed for years and liked it but my side leaked a little and she snored a lot so we bought the newer model that let's me raise her head if she snores (not the automatic one).  The snores have dropped off considerably.

The bed has an app that follows your sleep pattern.   It monitors heart and breathing and tells you the best time to exercise and when you are most alert based on your sleep.

Once you tell the app the number of hours sleep you plan to get, it scores you the next day.  If your goal is 8 hours,  it scores you based on how many hours in bed, how long to get to sleep and if you got up.  One night my wife was sick , slept until 230am.  Slept in the recliner until 6am and in bed until 630.  Her score was a 9.  Usually she scores 80.

The other day the app noticed I had not met my goal and actually suggested I lower my goal to meet my actual sleep habits.   I guess the next time I fail at something I should lower my expectations.

  16. For years I refer to my cars and especially my trucks as a girl.  Whenever I gun the engine to pass someone or get out of someones way, I rub the dashboard and tell her "good girl".  What if my truck identifies as a guy?  will it shut down on my one day out of anger that I mis-gendered it?
