Gun bearer is not the shooter, he is just helping out. I am assuming the shooter loaded the rifle and did not lower the hammer, thus his fault. So if a penalty was to be administered it would be on the shooter. Sr

Just load up with the primers and you will be good to go. The primers are very long lasting.

Why would someone do this? Because it is fun to be different.

I have shot gf ever since it was offered. I am still not good at it but I have fun doing it. When I inherited the job of running our local match and writing the stages, I wrote mostly pistols back to back because it fit my style. A fellow shooter, in a very nice way, pointed out writing all my stages to accommodate gf was boring for the vast majority of the shooters. He was right! So I started writing split pistol stages. I just adjust to what the stage requires, just like left handed people adjust. I don't want to lose shooters but to have to keep a few people happy I have to reduce all the other people's enjoyment, not happening. SR

This was discussed years ago. Draw the first pistol and load the 6th rd. Draw 2nd pistol while keeping 1st pistol pointed in a safe direction. Fire 11 rds. Holster the 1st pistol and load the 6th rd in the 2nd pistol and Fire it

I have a 45 Colt and in aWin 73 they produce a bunch of fouling. Wet is the only way for me. I use Breakfree CLP. Hornady one shot doesn't work for me. SR

Is the Freedom Arms model 97 an acceptable main match pistol. It looks like a modern version of the Colt saa to me. It has fixed sights. It's. 357 mag.

The JP rifles look fine as does the Sig MPX, both are more than I want to spend. The Diamondback is a possibility. Anyone with experience with the JR carbine?

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I leaning towards an AR style gun. I have never owned an AR type gun but see them used alot in steel challenge matches.

Try this, it is easier than you think to hit the targets and doesn't beat up your shoulder. Just tuck the stock between your arm and side.

Yep, and what to check before buying.

The first CB pistol I bought used at a gun show. Took it to the range and loaded it up. I fired it at a 25 yd target and was surprised that it hit near the ten ring. When I cocked it for the shot it took more effort than I expected. I fired it again and had another good hit. When I went to cock it the cylinder would not turn. I found a lead ball jammed between the loading rod and the cylinder. Figured the ball hadn't been seated good and moved forward. Repositioned the cylinder and seated the ball. When I fired again with another good hit, a lead ball fell out of the pistol. After looking it over I eventually discovered all the chambers had been fired. The ring on the recoil shield was flatten to the point that when the pistol fired the cylinder slammed backwards smacking the bottom nipple and cap against the recoil shield and firing it. I was surprised that the double discharges did not harm the gun or me. I didn't even realize the bottom chamber fired.

I had thought 14" might be good, but it just doesn't balance well for me. I would like to try 16" but that's against the rules. I am using 20" ever since I got my TTN because that is what it came with. I have use a couple of 18 1/8" guns and I liked that length. Since I am usually in the bottom 10 percent, following my advice is questionable. Shoot what you want and have fun.
