If you cannot see how having 20% less target affects shooters; than I don't know what to tell you.
More hittable targets equates to more happy shooters.
Shooting unsupported pistol is more challenge than shooting supported - and rifle shooting (at SASS distances) is less challenging yet again.
So the "smart" thing to do (assuming target count and availability support doing so) is to utilize the more hittable targets (i.e. the larger) for the most challenging firearm.
Yes, the argument can always be made that target size, shape and distance are immaterial, because "everyone shoots the same match" - but so what?
Good match directors have realized there is zero harm to the top tier of shooters by making success for the middle and bottom tier more accessible.
Or just AIM better,
....you can't please all the people all the time, now can ya>?

Looks pretty good to me!
Except that what you call a 1-2-3-4 sweep is called a PROGRESSIVE sweep everywhere I shoot!
Perhaps you don’t want to appear too liberal?Or a Lawerence Welk sweep.

Use mine to run 44 Russian when I'm not running 44 spl. I swap the carriers around when I switch works fine everytime.
The only modification is to take about 20 thou off the side of the bolt face so it clears the little spring loaded round retainer gate mounted in the carrier.

RIP my friend.

I think it's not going to work because of the many reasons outlined above.
Just run it like EOT Monday & Tuesday are WB. Wednesday to Sat are cowboy.
Far too many warm ups, you don't need 12 stages of warm ups??
Condense the whole thing, allows Sat & Sun to get there if you're not too far away!
This would be my schedule its only my 2 cents worth.
OKC and Land Run was our home club when we were there, ( and wish we still there)
and Flat Top and his team put on the best match ever, but I think this could back fire.
We are looking at 2027 to come back, and catch up with all our cowboy mates.

Been to many Comin at Chas over the years.
When we lived in Oklahoma we never missed one, even went down to their club matches some times.
They were always a hoot.

The quality of current AA shells is in the toilet. Bulges, split bases, crushed bases, bad crimps.
You can say that again.

To be honest no where. Anyone planning on dropping into a Sportsman's, Cabelas, Bass Pro, Walmart or other store selling ammunition at random and finding what they are looking for is almost sure to be disappointed. What is available on Monday most likely won't be there on Tuesday. Many brands of ammunition, powder, primers and percussion caps are very spotty. Jackaroo you best bet is for a friend to pick you up some ammo when it is available locally and bring it to EOT or take up Slim's offer and order it on-line and have it shipped to him or Kay.
Thanks Larsen, we used to get it no problem when we were living in Oklahoma but that's 7 years ago now.
Will organise with somebody to order us some, Wild Horse John has our centrefire ammo which we'll collect from him.

Tisas, hands down.
All steel construction, forged/machined, parts. NO plastic, NO M.I.M. parts. Original 1911 specs.
All for a price that cannot be beat. Mine cost $390.00.
It's a no-brainer...or should be.
Find out if the other brands use 100% steel, 100% forged & machined parts. NO plastic, No aluminum, No M.I.M..
Your choice, your money.
100% right Kid, I bought 2 of these over 10 years ago and never had a moments worth of trouble with any of them. Took them and a Para Ordinance
to a real hot shot pistol smith and he said ah well these cheap guns usually gotta throw all the internals out. Ok whatever.
When I went to collect them about 2 weeks later, he was astounded and said, well these internals of the Tisas's were perfect and in fact I threw all the rubbish out of the Para!!

Where is the best place to buy Remington low recoil shotshell ammo between El paso and Phoenix,
or what's the go to shotshell you cowboys are using now?
Us aussie cowboys need for EOT next year.

Hi Jim,
Wow that's some news, wishing you all the best in the new venture, catch again when you're settled.
Cheers

I've got Slicks, phantom trigger installed in my 1895 and have installed them in other 1894 s too.
I've never had a problem with them and they work fine.
Widow maker has the right explanation and for a Marlins to have an out of battery discharge is almost impossible.

See ya there Sunday only.

Happy birthday SASS, been 20 years for me, best thing that ever happened to me.
Without starting this game I would never have met my the only girl I love, I am truly blessed.
Not to mention the hundreds of friends we've made across the world, and the unknown number of miles we've travelled!!
Hopefully I can make another 20 years.
Maybe there'll be a Centurion category soon? LOL:

Academy sports usually got them, and Gameliels.

Hi JP welcome to the fire.

Why I want to join... I have always loved the old west and the guns and just st discovered the sport. I have just recently started a new venture in my life (Divorce) and starting my new life, I have the freedom to do what I want for once. I am truly a new person. Just waiting on payday to join.
You have no idea how much fun you're going to have by playing this game.
Welcome pardner.

Yes, well that's the way I understand it to be, it has to go back in the holster unless otherwise directed, and in most cases I've come across you only have to say " make safe" . The directions do not have to specifically say restatge on table or prop etc.Make safe can also mean you return it to the holster, .....or place it down on a proposal with barrel down range.
Is that correct?
And as you say Griff, split pistols the string is 5 and pistol, pistol its 10.
In writing the stage you cannot leave out a direction if you want the shooter or want to give him the option of leaving it unholstered somewhere. No directive then it goes back to leather or you get the penalty.?

Ok so it sounds like they're using the Hi Tek product, which is the best, but that doesn't mean the actual projectile can be poorly made.!
I get mine from SNS castings in Missouri I think they are, or Chey cast in Cheyenne, both use the Hi Tek product.
All very good products.

So Boggus, what you're saying is that we can leave a pistol anywhere if not in the holster, as long as it's deemed safe?

:FlagAm:
I just opened up a new box of powder coated CAS bullets and found that they looked like crap.
Many had voids and unfilled noses, bases, etc. I guess the vendor thought that the powder coat would cover up the sin.
These bullets are so bad that I culled them and I will probably not even use them for practice.
Has anyone else run into this?
Mustang
Where were they from and what coating process does the company have?
