Came across this interesting bit of military history. With their service pistols, an American spotter aircraft shot down a German spotter aircraft.

For the double-action revolver fans, Colt has come out with a new double-action revolver; the "Cobra."

Personally, when it comes to double-action revolvers, I've always preferred Smith & Wesson revolvers.

I remember Forty Rod one evening got pinned down by a blonde that was a perfect 38"- 24"- 36".
And, her other leg was exactly the same.

They shoot horses don't they?

Last Sunday "60 Minutes" did a piece on Chicago's rise in the murder rate and the lowering of police actions. Cops had found out they can be personally sued, in addition to being hung out to dry by the mayor and city elders. The cops are just responding to 911 calls now. Personally, I don't blame the Chicago cops.

During that period of history, it was common for the whole garrison to be put to the sword if the garrison refused the offer of honorable surrender and the garrison had to be taken by storm. What Santa Ana did by putting the defenders of the Alamo to the sword was not considered dishonorable at the time.
Fortunately, Forty Rod and I were in Las Vegas fighting off the women. Well, I was anyway.

Living here in Arizona, it' not often one wears a coat. My CCW is a Sig P238 and I carry it in a Sneaky Pete holster. I call it, "Concealed carry in plain site." I've never been asked if I'm carrying a gun nor has anyone seemed upset. I think most people just assume it's some sort of electronic device I'm carrying.

I still do "dumb-ass" things. Shucks, if I'd learned from all my mistakes; I be a genius!

I retired on my 67th birthday.
I, like many, had some trepidation about retiring. But, I found retirement suited me just fine. Haven't had a boring day since I retired.
For those wondering when or if they'll retire. You will know when it's time. Your whole person, (body, mind, and soul) will tell you it's time.
Love retirement.

Congrats! Now that you're a man of leisure, live life to the fullest!
For at least the first six (6) months, don't volunteer to any commitments.
My wife knows to keep her "Honey Do" to a minimum. Won't w*rk on anything more than 3-4 hours a day. Rest of day is for me because, by God, I'm retired!!!
Enjoy spending time with people you love and respect.

Holy CRAP! I don't own a S&W!!! What is wrong with me?!?!
Slim, you're deprived. You are missing out on one of life's simple joys by not owning a fine S&W double action revolver.

I had a Rossi Model 62 pump rifle in .22LR. Jammed every third round. Wasn't all that accurate when it did fire. Got so aggravated with the rifle that I threw it as far as I could and walked away. A friend picked it up and asked me if I wanted it. I told him "NO!" He kept it.

To my mind, nobody makes as fine of a revolver as Smith and Wesson. And today, if you can only have one of the new S&W revolvers, the 586 or 686 are tops.
Even Colt in it's best days when they were making the "snake" revolvers weren't better than S&W. And yes, I traded off a 4-inch Colt Python because I just didn't like the feel of the grips. Much preferred my S&Ws.
Three S&Ws that I no longer have but wish I had back were early 1970's Models 15 (4") "Combat Masterpiece," 17 (6") "K22 Masterpiece," and 36 (2") "Chief's Special."
Now my top pick for the best of all S&Ws ever made is: Model 19-3 or 19-4 "Combat Magnum."
I've been eyeing a new Model 60 with 3-inch barrel. But, I don't need another S&W revolver.....

Police weren't very bright back then.

No, it's the shortest day because the hours, minutes, seconds are shorter and the earth is flat.
That's why it's colder also.

Is this a hoax?

Here's what they're asking on GunBroker.

Nah, Slim. You'd likely be dead. I'm told dead bodies don't feel hurt.
