I don't think I'd worry too much about the gun. Buy brand X if you don't like it sell it and try brand Y, easy to do. I'd worry about getting the right suppressor, that is not easy to change out if you don't like it. I asked about .22 suppressors and got this reply.
If you want strictly 22LRSilencerCo SparrowRugged MustangIf you want variety, 22LR, 17HMR, 22mag, 5.7Rugged OculusSilencerCo SwitchbackRex Silentium MG22Otter Creek Labs Titanium 22- 1

I worked 40 years as an aerospace engineer. I worked on programs where Boeing was our subcontractor and we were Boeing subcontractor. The one thing that always bothered me was the arrogance of their people I dealt with. their attitude was no one knew better than they did , because no built better (and more) BIG AIRPLANES THAN THEM. They were our major subcontractor on the B-2 Stealth Bomber program and they people just gave me fits with their attitude. I got to the point where my answer to them when they had excuses on why their quality and schedule did not meet out standards was "I don't give a damn about your excuses, just go fix it and shut up"!
They have obviously got some problems on their assembly line that needs fixing....just go do it!
I worked for Goodyear Aerospace in the wheel and brake side for a while, Never saw any Boeing wheels, asked why. Was told Boeing thought they knew more than any body so Goodyear didn't want to business with them.

My son has several, as every one has said the .22 is quietest. He has a Ruger and I have used it on my S&W 22 compact, both work great, but I like the S&W better, just lighter. 9mm is still loud, .45 might be ok as it is subsonic.

Dragway 42, my brother used to race there back in the 60's.

Movie prop gun, probably a SAA with a New Frontier barrel. Don't have to work, just has to look like a gun.

There was a time when there were people around the country who would " forward" your mail for you. You would write your letter, put it in an addressed, stamped envelop, put that in another one with a dollar or two and send it to one of these guys. They'd keep the money and drop your letter in the mail in their local post. I wonder if any of those guys still exist?

I always consider resale, nothing compares to a genuine Colt there. It doesn't get any safer than carrying with an empty chamber under the hammer.

I liked all the ones listed, but also liked "Prince Valiant". I did use silly putty a time or two.
