  1. Thoughts on this actually going through. I was going to buy a suppressor, but I am leaning to wait, hoping it might pass. Seems like the waiting period went from a few months to 6 or so.

Wait or get the paper work started... what do you think?

  2. You're supposed to shovel snow? We just buy a loaf of bread, a gallon of milk and wait for it to melt. (By the way, did I mention it was 75 today?)

We have about 5 feet on the North side where the snow slides off the roof. Currently at 210% of normal and 3 months to go. Could be interesting when it does melt.

  3. use to get extra doe tags in Colorado. Son and I would always take the cowboy guns and fill our tags. The Fusion bullet line and leverolution are both great rounds and a box will last many years. Does not even pay to work up a load just for hunting in your caliber.

Wife wants to take a buffalo with the 45/70 but has not yet drawn out.

  4. Take a long hard look at Bond. The best part of that brand is that you can change out the barrels with one shoulder bolt and change the caliber. They have barrels from .22 Rim Fire to .45 Colt/.410 and barrel lengths from 2-1/2" to 4-1/4".

The down side is the trigger. You have to pull it from the very bottom. There are several good smiths that can do a trigger job on them.

The Davis and all other "Period Accurate" derringers are one caliber and one caliber only.

    Hope that helps,

Need to know how to pull the trigger on Bonds for sure. Sort of a pull down motion. I do believe that Bond now makes a lighter replacement spring for their weapons.

  5. I'm not sure what the point of this thread is, other than to brag about how much better of a black powder shooter you are than the rest of us wannabes. The one thing I like the most about shooting bp is the camaraderie I feel with fellow bp shooters. I don't think we need to start an elitist branch denigrating all those that you think aren't doing it right. I have yet to meet anyone shooting in the bp categories just to increase their competitive advanatage. Maybe they exist, but so far the only ones I've met do it for the love of bp

Oh yea, well my smoke stinks more than yours! :D

  6. They use to make HV rounds for rifles but dumb people would put them in the old BP Colts - not good. Look in some of the older Lyman manuals in the rifles section and you can find some HV loadings that get right up there with the 44 Mag. Will try and locate mine and send you info.
