  1. When I was reloading commercially, tumblers where something that would break down.

I ran 4 tumblers 3 hours per day. (used a mechanical timer on a plug strip)

    I tried different brands.

Gem Stone was a good one but the company closed.

I tired all the Dillon, Frankford Arsenal, Midway, and other known manufacturers.

Then I tried one from Harbor Freight.

I have been I have two harbor Freight and two Lyman Turbo Twin tumblers.

I learned quickly that it was cheaper to replace the broken tumblers with new ones.

I did replace three motors and they ran about a couple of months before failing again.

The four tumblers I have, have ran 4 to5 days a week and maybe 6 years before I closed the business.

They are still in the shop for personal use.

The only thing I dislike about this tumbler is the bolt through the lid is metric.

It was hard to find a rubber thumb nut to replace the wing nut.

I finally gave up and use the metal wing nut that came with the tumblers.

If you watch these at the different shooting suppliers, they go on sale for 2 for one every so often.

  2. Lumpy, some years back there was a round produced called the Bandit.

It was a full wad cutter flush with the case.

There was a big discussion over this round and it was decided it could not be used in SASS.

The company that produce the Bandit then made a change and made the Bandit II, which was the same round with the lead bullet extended out past the edge of the brass about 1/8".

The decision was made that the Bandit II was a legal round.

This set the president that any rounds with some lead extended out past the case rim would be legal.

Any round with flush with the case or recessed lead in to the case would not be legal.

  3. Auto-gyro...

Main rotor is free spinning and required forward movement to create air flow over the blades.

A motor either in front of behind is used to move the aircraft forward.

Some auto-gyros use a clutch devise that engages the engine to the main rotor to pre spin the main rotor for short distant takeoff.

This pre spin devises s not used in flight.

  4. Lee Fisher was owner of Lee's Gunsmithing.

    Lee Fisher aka "Ringo" SASS.

Lee Fisher produced and sold the Gunslinger Spring Kits

Lee sold his business to good friend Ross Seymour.

Ross Seymour aka "Rowdy Yates" SASS #141

Ross kept the same store Lees occupied for some time.

Ross closed the store and continued working from his home shop.

Ross also continues the production of the Gunslinger Spring Kits.

I am not sure if Ross has given up his FFL Gunsmith license.

Ross has always been a Black Powder shooter and prefers to work on cap and ball revolves.

If you want to know if he will work on your guns, call him.

    He does answer his phone.

    Not so much his e-mail.

  5. What ever caliber you choose to shoot in what ever category, you will shoot against all calibers legal for that category.

And I also ask, what is .35 cal used in that is cowboy action .

  6. I was a commercial reloader for cas shooters.

    I only load for cas.

Here is my 2013 ammunition break down on what was loaded.

    =======================

    38 sp s = 75.94% bullet used was 125TC

    357 mag = 8.67% bullet used was 125TC

    44 sp = zero

    44 mag = .11% bullet used was mix of 200RN and 225RN

    44-40 = .09% bullet used was 2o0RN

    45 Colt = 14.77% bullet used as 20RN and some 250RN

45-70 = .43% bullet used was 405 FP three lube grooves.

Total rounds reloaded was a little of 200,000.

There where 32-20 with 119FP but I did not include them in the data.

There where maybe 2000 of these made for two shooters.

There were also 38-55 245FP. Maybe 500. Mostly for me.

My personal ammunition is not included above. 357 125Tc & 45 Colt 200FP.

  7. Also might consider until you can have your rifle issue corrected, take a step back away from the firing line giving more distance for the brass to fall in that is behind the firing line.

I know.. I know closer is better but really the bullets will go another 2' down range to the targets. Really they will.

  8. Also there is line of sight.

Using a height of 6 feet above the surface ... water ... the horizon is approximately 3 miles away.

At 100 feet the horizon is a little over 12 miles away.

At 200 feet it is about 17 miles.

A cell signal with high out put can reach 45 miles.

However,a cell phone also has a connection protocol.

GMS has a fixed distance of 22 miles limit.

CDMA has no limit but a range of 30 to 45 miles because of their lower power output.
