  1. This one was kinda startling....

The outfit I retired from was largely staffed by women - like about 330 women to maybe 25 men, spread out over locations in three counties.

Anyway, there was one gal... not at all unattractive, and very obviously "womanly" constructed in a - to put it bluntly - eye-catching manner.

Well... the modern times being what they are, she decided that she'd rather be a "Donald" than a "Donna," and pursued the medical route to accomplish this goal.  Evidently quite successfully.

But I gotta confess... it always gave the shivers to be in the men's room and have "Donald" sidle up to the fixture next to me.  Suddenly all that morning coffee just had to stay on board a while longer.....

I never said anything until now; didn't want to be accused of being a horrid, insensitive, backward-thinking troglodyte.

My favorite episode - from 1971, To Rope a Grizzly  ^_^

Sunday, February 1971, those of us in the Kappa Phi Delta house who didn't have Valentine's Day dates (most of us!) were perched on the edges of our seats, beers clutched in hand but forgotten, watching in astonishment...

Yup... love it!  A "rite of passage" here in the Central Valley, which we continue to celebrate every September 01.  SO many memories... and stories!  ^_^

Always fun going into town for breakfast after that opening day morning shoot and seeing the  restaurants full of happy folk in camouflage.  :)
