  1. I'm a firm believer that 45 Colt should go BOOM and my shotgun BOOM BOOM.  So my 45 reloads are loaded 1 grain below the powder manufacture's maximum recommendation and my factory shotgun loads are NOT mild loads.  That is how I choose to "play" SASS.

Other Cowpokes prefer to "play" for speed and low recoil ammunition helps them accomplishes reach that goal.

Shoot SASS the way YOU want to and not the way some Cowpoke (me included) thinks you should because they do a certain way.    SASS ain't the Indianapolis 500.  Show up with what you got (within SASS rules) and have fun your way.

I received the watch yesterday. Very nice presentation box. Watch has good weight, and has a beautiful case and chain. Sitting in a chair, with three fingers of bourbon in a glass, and playing the tune, takes you right into the movie. I highly recommend buying one. You'll be a daisy if you do! Montana

How is the quality of the music?  Prerecorded on a chip….actual chimes or?  Notes are right on?

…There is an aftermarket replacement that isn’t made out of plastic (not familiar with it).

Internet search found one that’s made out of aluminum.  Same search found several comments about how the Ring Indexer is designed as a “breakable link” to prevent major damage to other components.

  4. Reloading some 223 this morning when I got a double case feed.  How did that happen?  Shell plate didn’t index.  Why didn’t the shell plate index?  Further investigation revealed a half of a plastic ring laying at the bottom of the press.  Bummer.  What was an auto indexing press is now a manual indexing.  Fortunately I have 45 Colt reload for most if not all of this year’s SASS season.

Emailed Dillon of the situation requesting #13677 Ring Indexer.  I just love life time warranties.  I got mixed emotions IF I’ll need to shipped it back to Dillon.  I’ve got  the 650’s original shipping box, not looking forward to having tear the press down to ship it back.

Dillon website said up to three days for a reply.  Patience pilgrim.  Patience.

My practice wife’s wedding dress was remade into a baptismal dress for our daughters which was a common thing to do with them.

    What is a “practice wife”?

A tactical toilet paper carrier. B)

You take the cardboard roll out of the middle of the toilet paper, then zip it into your tactical carrier, and pull it out the hole in the top. You're unrolling it from the inside of the roll.

    And only $22.99 US. Wowzer.

Me thinks I’ll just fold TP flat, store it in a zip lock plastic bag.  Take less space and water proof then carrying TP in a pouch…unless I’ve got diarrhea.

Trimming the rods really helps in the action staying open when loading ;)

If this helps. My final number for the cocking rods after squaring and polishing both ends is 3.630” and 3.631. This gives about 0.025” over travel. Looking at your pictures I would knock off about 0.002” at a time and check the operation. Remove both rods when checking so one doesn’t interfere with the other. I think you are within 4 or 5 thousandths and it does make a difference in how the action hangs open.

STOP IT!!!  THE BOTH OF YA!!!  :D  I’ve got my mind made up not to and y’all are messing it up with facts!  Ok.  Perhaps, maybe after I’ve got my Federal AND State taxes done I’ll be in a better frame of mind to grind the rods down.

Is the NCIC system unreliable? As an LEO, how did you perform firearm checks?

If the same basic system (without detailed or personal information) was accessible by the general public, it would be a good thing IMO. Stolen or not...question answered with a phone call or site access.

Ebay and its ownership doesn't sell firearms and supports many anti-Second Amendment causes.

If the owner could provide make, model and serial number.  If the County would honor my request to enter said information in NCIC and if they did so without typos we would be almost golden.  And if the NCIC program allowed for permissions for public access on non- confidential data fields with no increase in taxes, we would be golden.  I had an RV manufacture that routinely had stereo systems stolen.  One time they could provide the necessary info for NCIC and I requested County to do so.  To satisfy my curiosity I checked a few weeks after I had made the request.  No entry was made in NCIC and my follow-up with County provided me with a “ haven’t gotten to it yet” excuse.   IMHO data bases are only good if they are kept undated in a timely fashion.

Ebay.  My comments were not limited only to firearm and/or related items but to any and all items listed on EBay.
