When Einstein was at Princeton, they used to have a "handler", for want of a better term, follow him around so that he didn't get lost. And he got lost a lot, especially when he was on his way home.

Yeah, but he could ride a unicycle.

I would change “they’re smart” to “they have common sense.”

A lot of people are very "smart" in a very limited sphere of subjects...and dumber than a box of rocks in most others.  There are many exceptions, but not enough to make it common place.

They had to take some of them out.

There's a very famous skit. They're trying to do a Mama's Family skit, and Conway keeps telling a story about going to the circus. About the elephant he saw. Siamese elephants. Joined at the trunk.

He'd say a couple of lines, then shut up. They start trying to do the routine again and he pops in with another line, and Carol and Harvey and Lyle are falling apart trying to keep a straight face.

Then at the end of it, Mama asked, "is that little shit finished?"

That didn't go out over the air.

Some were taken out.  They were deliberate but never would have passed muster

I thought that "Cruel and Unusual punishment" was no longer applicable.

Cruel and unusual never made sense to me until recently when we started to dole out kind and common punishments.

I recently saw an article on Carol Burnett. One of the funniest women alive , Mrs. Burnett, is still alive and kicking at 90 years old.

Tim Conway wasn't any slouch either.

I saw a recording of the outtakes of her shows once.  I'd love to see it again.  Can't remember what it was called, but I laughed for weeks after that .
