Interesting request,
I had one, once upon a time. Sold it before I shot it. Lucky to lose just some of my money. I worked on a Chaparral Short 1876 rifle, with the 22" barrel ( the best part of the gun), in 45-75 caliber. Fell in love with the 45-75, wonderful caliber. I worked on it around one year, even replaced everything I could with original Winchester parts. Still was unreliable on shooting an entire magazine. Every 5th or 6th round failed to go off. Pretty much sucked. Took a big hit and was lucky to sell it. The buyer understood the problem with the gun.
I figure you know what your doing. Good luck if you find one.

The key to load development is EXCELLENT RECORDS!!! Note everything in your reloading notebook including date, time, weather, wind sun, clouds, humidity, all load details, etc. Change only one component at a time. Be meticulous and take your time.
I agree!

This is kind of an off-shoot of another topic regarding the interest in using American made guns in SASS competitions. Just trying to get a sense of how many people are using Colt made SAA's of any of the generations for Cowboy Shooting, or if the Vaqueros and various imports have taken over the market completely.
As a long time part of the firearms industry, I am asking to see if there really is a good need for the various spare parts that keep a SAA up and running for competition. I know from both my own research and that of my gunsmith friend John Linebaugh, that there is a complete absence of Colt replacement parts on the market. Certain parts are not to be found for love or money, and others are just in such tiny quantities that they could not keep an active shooting community running for long.
Love to hear your opinions on this.
Have a great day!
You all need to come out west..... plenty of parts to be found, if need be.

I've been using single loop ammo belts/slides since I started CAS 25 years ago.
I can pull two rounds from anywhere on the belt without an empty loop between pairs.
Same method when using any model shotgun (SxS with or without hammers, '97, or 1887).
I have one double-loop snap-on slide that came with a complete gunbelt setup.
Had I started out like PaleWolf, I would have a few more championships in my pocket. As it is, I finally learned the hard way. This is the best way, in my opinion. I use the Doc Noper single canvas shotshell belt with 5 rifle/pistol reloads on each side. This is the best in the west..in my use of the side by side shotgun or the 97.

Great guns for sale.

One is lightly used and the other I bought as new/old inventory. These are the 510- serial number series. Hard to find in our south Texas area.
All original and no action jobs or springs changed out.
Neither has the original grey box with them. I have grey Ruger boxes that will fit them.
Contact Oklahoma Dee
would be coming from a non-FFL holder.
Thanks for lookin!

The bullets I use are teflon coated not moly coated and the bullets are sized after being coated.
PLUS PLUS...These are the best so far, in my opinion. Precision Bullets out of Kemp, Texas.

I kinda agree with Texican Slim,
BUT at the same time, I have bought some strange combinations of SKB,s over the years.
I contacted a number of folks and even the SKB folks. and found them to be custom ordered, as well as I could verify.
So, that being said...It is a great hunting gun regardless, potential cowboy gun and at a good price.
And your dealing with one of the Premier people in the world! Yup - Lead Ringer....
Thunder River Renegades is still shooting tomorrow, Jan 7th!
