May I ask what’s the benefit of having that much leather for the wrap. Is it a thing to only allow certain amount of fingers in the lever ?
SDI currently shoot the rifle with two fingers in the lever. Some use one, some use two, some use three fingers.
My fingers like comfort at my age. 😇
I see all kinds of one piece of skinny leather ( must be for thick strong fingers?), a couple stripes of leather ( now looking like burnt bacon), and even more leather on differing lever setups.
Mine has location and comfort, in mind, for me. This setup keeps my two fingers close to the front of the lever(Without sliding back and forth), as I like to keep my trigger finger inside the lever, as I work it. I like to think it is a stable controlled setup, while levering as fast as possible.
Hope this helps you down the trail!

With all due respect, those are not exactly Cowboy deals. I understand everything is going up but I paid $1,400 for a similar shotgun a year ago.
Good luck to Sir
Thank you most kindly for the good luck!
Asking Price is always a starting price for me. Offers and count-offers are freely received and sent.

Hello Prairie Dawg, i am pretty interested, but what type of leather rig you used these with? Did you shoot em for gunfighter? Duelist? two handed?
Many thanks for any info and\or pictures.

Is that a 19" barrel length?
On the short stroke action, is it a cut n weld or a C&I, or Pioneer?
Is carrier still brass?
Is that a straight trigger or the original one?
Thank you kindly

Yes, I used it for Wild Bunch loads, 45colt and 45acp. As I recall, so did Evil Roy?!?!

Is there any update to his condition?

It could be said that the shooter staged their firearm in the wrong location too.
If the TO saw it and did not say anything that is one thing but to blame the TO because they missed that gun staging while they are doing about 20 other things is wrong. We have rules that plainly state the penalty, who is ultimately responsible for any mistakes.
As a TO we try not to start a shooter in a defaulted position but there is a lot going on for the TO to keep track of. It Does not seem to much to ask that the shooter remember where to stage guns.
Nothing in the OP gives any reason for a re-shoot.
OP states stages was read as written, which is required, then any corrections be addressed after the reading. Shooter walked away to load before PM was finished clarifying corrections . Its nice to be able to catch mistakes but I'm sure a hell not perfect and have yet to see anyone else who is either.
If you feel the TO did a poor job then that line on the registration form that says Posse with can be changed to dont posse with, My list is growing daily.
Outstanding and Truth Reflection.
Well stated young man!!!
Miss seein you, trust your well. Oklahoma Dee

Twas my first time to shoot this match.
I thought is was very well setup. Good stages with easy instructions.
Weather was mild and friendly.
This seems to be a pretty good club, I hope some members will step up and get on the board and continue the monthly shoots.

Very special folks and setting it up in a short time period, is something that is a wonder.

Help me see the light!

Cannot imagine how the split extractor would affect anyone's ability to shoot anywhere near as fast as the gun is capable of. More modifications is not necessarily better. I built a Bunch of 200's with split extractors ( used to be ejectors) and never had an issue with them needing welding,
Take nothing away from Dirt Merchant, he was doing SKB action jobs before they were popular.
That said, I can see where a stuck hull might be a little bit easier to shuck with a unified extractor versus a split. No over governing evidence, just my thoughts, be that right or wrong.
When two split extractors are welded together there is one moving piece, versus two moving pieces doing the work. I would imagine that the welded one piece is more reliable and efficient then two. Speed aside, I am referring to consistency in doing a particular job.
Any game is about efficiency, the fewer unknowns or moving parts one has to worry about.... the more focused one can be. Another example is the Ruger Vaquero transfer bar....Some shooters say it works perfectly and are happy with leaving it in, other shooters remove it, do to the potential risk of breaking during a match. Shooters choice.
Any way you look or feel about it, shooters get to do, (within the current laws) what they think will work best for them.
Great sport.
