  1. Black powder is also way louder than smokeless so..... WB stage and I didn't say I was shooting BP in my 45. First round went off. TO jumped back thinking the gun exploded or something. I think he may have needed a change of undies after? It was a good laugh. Also ran 2 mags no issues. GOEX 3F with about 1/8" compression.

  2. The steel brush scraper is dangerous.. The bristles fall out as yu use it. Ok. Bu tthere was a case where a kid came into the ER with stomach or intestine pain. After a bunch of images they saw a small steel wire stuck in his intestines. Surgery and he was OK. The steel wire was from a BBQ brush.  Went out and tossed mine.

  3. I believe the Smith sight is one of a very few SASS legal receiver sights for plainsman. I sold my 45=70 Handi rifle wiht ejectors. I found it heavy for trying to move or load fast. I bought a 50-45 rolling block carbine. Actually used ny the Nave. Very short barrel. If I swept the block back like a hammered double it would eject and cock the hammer for the next round. Original site was for 200 yards! Bought a new front blade and filed it down for 50 yards. 50-45 is just a cut down 50-70.

  4. Our club shoots a lot of single shot big bore long range and cowboy stages. For Josey we shoot 2 pistols holstered, 2 staged, and big bore rifle 3 to 5 shots, no shotgun.  Regular shooters shoot shotgun and lever rifle targets 2 pistols. We also shoot Tom Horn using big bore lever action.  Big bore targets are out at 30+ yards.

Cowboy boots have been around a long time

'although it can be seen as early as 1914' So doing century math. They came about in the 20th century as I posted! And I'll offer they weren't made for walking/stannding comfort

  6. B Western and Classic Cowboy are the only 2 categories with very specific clothing and accoutrement requirements. After that your on your own. One thing though cowboy boots are  a 20th century/movie thing. And cowboy hats weren't worn by everyone. I have 8 different hats I wear.

  7. I watch police/Criminal videos on YouTube.   There are some standard lines used by criminals. What did I do, I didn't do noting, I can't breath, you racist. Our justice system is so messed up. Woman gets pulled over, license suspended, no insurance, registration expired. Cop asks then tells her to get out. She says no. Cop breaks window "takes" her out. She's pulling, hitting, kicking the cop. And used every line about.

She's arrested for all the vehicle infractions, resisting arrest and battery on a LEO. She's let out the next morning. End sup paying a $250 fine. That is complete BS.

  8. Archeologists, Paleontologists and other 'ologists' are alway acting surprised when some new find changes changes dates or "assumptions" they made.   The Clovis point is an example. Spear point is found dated to about 12,000 years . That was the stake in the ground. They couldn't agree that the migrants were here far more than 12,000 years. Now its pushed back 28,000 years. That and now thers evidence of Chinese, Polynesian, and European migrants.

  9. After 8th grade HS just becomes a place your parents sent you too so they didn't have to watch you. Unless you wanted college prep classes you learned everything you needed to go out and get a job after graduating 8th grade.

I took shop classes, as many as allowed. Wood shop, Auto shop, and drafting. HS was a big bore. They need to bring vocational classes back. Not everyone is college material.

Auto shop got me a job at an auto parts store rebuilding engines, heads, etc. Did that full and part time for 11 years. It paid my college expenses to become an Architect. Didn't need college prep classes after all.

wood shop, well you need a hobby don't you?

Whatever - it is only a game.

Would like it to be a period replica Well he asked for period correct. And call me crazy but cowboys didn't carry bowie knives and fancy dan knives.

  12. The first knife you show is period correct.  It was offered by many of the trade companies. It was easy to make and durable, Think weight, bowie knives aren't light. The fancy pearl grips and finely made blades an average cowboy wouldn't wear or afford. My $5 qorth.

  13. So according to those who think they know . Agriculture and the domestication of animals. It meant a stable and consistent food source. Sans droughts, hail, pests,  and thieves. And domestic animals meant again food, labor source, and clothing. Which meant they could stay in one place and build villages leading to cities. Then they invented the internet and it all went wrong.
