Loquacious Bill
I have a 12 year old Mossberg 500 and I've never had a problem with it until today. First, I had light primer strikes on about a third of the rounds causing a failure to fire. Second, the safety began to creep back and engage from cycling the gun. The safety would engage after only coming back about a third of the way. I suspect the light primer strikes may be due to dirt or grease so I gave it a good cleaning. I have no ideas about the safety. BTW, it's a steel safety, not plastic as I've read of some problems with plastic safeties.
