This is SASS number 111442, “Pinhead.” Nolan our youngest grandson. He and his two older brothers, Clay County Kid and Grahambino, also have shiny, new SASS badges. Before Grahambino’s first match a week ago, Pinhead took a swig of chocolate milk and Shortcake snapped his picture. The Hiland Dairy folks loved it and are running it on social media. A new SASS badge and a model within a week.

SASS star #111271 now belongs to our 12 year old grandson, Graham, who chose his school nickname for his alias. We are closer to the grandkids in Missouri and that has been very nice. Graham has Type 1 diabetes, and that can be a challenge with things other kids get to do. It's sad when you hear a kid rattle off a list of things he can't do. Shortcake and I decided to let him try our cowboy guns, and he has done very well in practice. Probably not close to a clean match just yet, but he has really good muzzle discipline so a 170 violation looks pretty remote. Anyway, we know the cowboy community is very supportive to new folks, and felt this would be a good morale boost for him. Something he can do on his own (kinda) and get a good feeling of self confidence. Hope to see ya at a match soon! (don't click on the arrow, it's just a screen shot of a video)

Hi all, I have wanted to start CAS for a long time, but just cannot do it at this time in my life due to the cost (two revolvers, rifle, shotgun, leather, cart, the fact that I do not have enough spare time to reload). I do, however enjoy watching and admire the skill that a lot of y 'all have. I have been curious for a while about a couple of things. 1. Why are there no events for pistols only, or one pistol one rifle? That way it would be easier for new shooters to get in the game. 2. Can you use your guns for things other than CAS? I have wondered if the extent to which some guns are modified makes them less reliable for full power loads/farm or small game hunting type use. 3. Is there somewhere to look for someone selling an entire kit all at once? Maybe that could lower the cost of entry. I am not trying to come across as critical at all, I have just wondered these things for a while and finally decided to join the forum so I could ask. Thanks for your time!!!

I'm HAPPY to announce that my missus has decided to join our family of Cowboy/Cowgirls and all the fun that goes with it. Her alias is "Ellie Phant" SASS # 104987 Ellie is off to a great start with a pair of Jimmy Spurs Rugers and I'm currently, with Widders help setting up a Marlin 1894CS for her. Can't wait for spring to shoot with her! EH
