Already into the new year with at least one shooting per day, Chicago's solution is to search (illegally) the cars of firefighters without warrants, probable cause, or exigent circumstances. Looking for concealed carry potential violations. Apparently fire stations are the cause of significant shootings in Chicago. Wow. I swear, you can't make this stuff up! HeyJackass.com is the keeper of the best stats of mayhem in the Windy City. What I find ironic is that the State of Illinois passed a gun dealer licensing bill (2019) that was so onerous, nearly half of all FFL holders quit. The internet being what it is, and the media being what it is, getting information from somebody who has eyeballs on an event or issue can be a challenge. Second City Cop, https://secondcitycop.blogspot.com/ is a blog authored by current and retired CPD. It went dark a couple of years ago when sources outside of the mainstream media were frowned upon by the powers that be. It is now up and running as of July 1. It also lists similar blogs of other agencies, NYPD, etc. You can post anonymously or not, or just read. There is no guarantee that the posters are bona fide CPD officers, but with the details presented on postings, who else could it be? I do have a couple of CPD contacts who were candid enough to tell me that the info posted is pretty much on target, much to the chagrin of political leaders. So if you want the real story of happenings on the streets of Chicago from the guys in the trenches, get a sandwich and a cold drink and enjoy.

Someone, in very high authority, had this blasted to all Chicago Police squad car terminals. While the "light flashing" is a new one on me, admitting to increasing traffic crashes with this sets a new standard in liability. Beam me up Scotty, no intelligent life down here.
