  1. My neighbor has that system, with the surpressor threaded on to the muzzle brake, that is threaded on to the barrel. Not sure that it reduces recoil anymore than just a surpressor threaded directly to the barrel in felt recoil. We share the same smith in Idaho, and he's truly a machinist. He properly installed it for him. Its a 338 lapua improved. Couple things I don't like about the surpressor are the shift in point of impact, and the length of it. If you buy a 30 inch Hart for the velocity, then have to spin another 8 inches on it, it's too darn long. You either have to load tune, and zero the gun with it off or on, because the poa is different even though it will shoot tight either way. Now some gun makers are building their rifles with a short threaded barrel, with a protective thread collar on it figuring the buyer will put a surpressor on it. This ruins the velocity of the cartridge cutting 6 inches off of it. I spose if I were shooting high volumes of rounds in one spot on a bench, I'd buy one. Lunger

In space (or Eastern Washington) no one can hear you scream..... Whee you're at Lunger nobody needs a suppressor LOL.

  2. Before you buy your longguns. Find a few clubs in your area and make a point to attend a shoot.

You really need to 'try-before-you-buy'. Just like a pair of shoes. ^_^

You may even find a good deal on used guns.

Good choice on going with Rugers. ;)

    OLG

I concur with OLG on this. Bought me a '73 and dropped another $600 into it only to switch categories after my 1st year to B Western. Then had to go find me a Marlin cause B Western says rifles after 1880.

  3. Company I worked for in Oregon was headquartered in upstate NY. They closed down our facility (Because of Obama's Medical device tax to pay for Obamacare). They wanted me to move to NY and made me a very very nice move offer. Was considering till I found out what I would have to go through to get my guns there (well the ones they would let me).

I feel for my friends in Upstate having to deal with the whims of NYC.

  4. Widder, We were remodeling the house from March till October Lot of my shooting stuff was in storage. Only got to shoot a couple monthly matches last year. Getting back into the swing again and plan on hitting the trail for shooting a bunch of matches this year. Planning most of my vacation time around matches!

    Marlins are running good!
