  1. I am looking for a good cowboy load recommendation shooting 30-30 155 or 150 GR RNFP smokeless out of my 94 Winchester. Something in the 1125 to 1300 FPS range. Target distance 200yards

Thank you in advance for any assistance!!!

At my matches, cross sticks allowed for front rest & no artificial object for the rear support.  Most shoot seated (the range is not conducive for the prone position) with elbows resting on knees for rear support.

Please where is this referenced about NO rear rest? Strike that,, this is what you do which is 100% correct just not SASS regulated

    Ask the Match Director.

That actually answers my question. "Match director's option" I was somewhat challenged by a well-meaning participant on this when I allowed a small rest to be used and I wanted to double check my opinion.

"Regardless of category or caliber, bullets used in long range and precision rifle matches must be made of pure lead or lead alloy having a plain base, gas checked, or paper patched configuration."  page 32 of the handbook

    Good man! Perfect, thank you.

  5. Can someone point to a specific rule or guideline that states non-mechanical elbow rest are/or not allowed? For instance. A ok to use hand as a rest or no, B ok to use a sand bag for rest or no?

    Thanks again!!

  6. Just received my dues renewal notice and brand new membership card. The second sentence states "The card is a brand new design that is durable and packs a lot of benefits." Does anyone know if after you pay the dues you get a second mailing with the "durable" card? The one I received is on the same paper as the invoice and appears to be standard copy paper weight with no special coating.

  7. PRICE REDUCED TO $195 bucks!

I purchased this 4 gun cart brand new from Tiger River Ralph for $425.00. He makes some of the best heavy duty carts found anywhere. Last week Ralph told me he sold his personal cart (almost exactly like mine) for $350.00..... . Cart includes all the options, removable cooler shelf and drink holder.. Available for Atlanta area pick up only. Email with any questions.

  8. I love SASS and this sport. I will support with paying my dues and other activities.

I do have a question and something that just kinds of well just stiffens my neck hair and little.

I always thought that you HAD TO be a SASS member to shoot at a SASS event. I was just told by one of the senior guys that many of the shooters or NOT SASS members!!! They do not shoot state or Regional matches. They only shoot at their local club. Can this be true? If yes should we consider local rule changes that would require ALL shooters to be SASS members after shooting for a two year adjustment period
