Hey TPB
.430 200gr bullets shoot just great out of my 20" barreled 44/40 Rossi 92 with both smokeless and APP.

When I was in Vietnam I saw a 300' tower fall with a worker at the top, It happened at Tan Son Nhut air base in I think 1968, I later heard the man died but never any more details, That's one memory I can't get out of my head the poor guy was hanging on with nowhere to go.

They have one on Sunday too, I hope they have carpet or something to put down or everybody's going to be knee deep in red clay.

Yul
It looks like they probably will, Even if we get a break in the weather its going to be way to muddy at the range, Tequila Vaquero spoke with Harold this morning and he doesn't want us out there playing slip and slide, With as much as there is going on if we do have to miss a month this is probably the best one.
We missed four shoots one year I wouldn't care for a repeat of that.

Sorry Folks
Due to the current series of storms hitting the area we won't be able to put on our monthly match at Pala this Saturday.
We'll try to have a great match in February( Mother nature willing )

Howdy Big Sage
Just got home from Yuma, Had a great time as usual, I ran into Rusty and his Pard and said howdy, Like the others said the weather was wonderful and the shoot fun, I don't know where I messed up but I shot the match clean at least as clean as you can with the black stuff.
Hope you're healing well and look forward to seeing you at the Revenge and say howdy to the missus for me.

You did very well Warden those are beautiful rifles, 44/40 is no big deal to reload just takes a little patience, Both of my Marlin 44/40s have .429 bores and seem to like 200 grain .430 bullets best.

This is terrible news Randy was one of the nicest people you could ever meet, He's been part of our regular setup crew at Pala for years, I think I can speak for the rest of the Saddle Tramp posse when I say he will truly be missed.

Hey Yul
I just talked to Doc Skinner over in Yuma, He was out to the range on Saturday and said it was a little muddy but no standing puddles, If there's no more rain between now and the shoot camping should be ok, The only fly in the ointment is that the weather report called for another storm coming in Monday here in San Diego If it's a fairly large one Yuma will get rain too. I Guess just wait and see.

I've got a 1899 in .303 Savage with a lyman windgauge tang sight it's much more accurate than I expected it to be really a fun rifle to shoot.
Prvi Patrizen( I know I spelled that wrong ) made a run of .303 Savage brass, Lee makes the die's and my cast .308GC bullets work great, I used 30/30 loading data, That run of modern brass brought a lot of great old rifles back to life. If you have a 303 it's well worth the effort to reload for it.
A lady friend I shoot with was given a 99 in 250/3000 that shoots to minute of coyote, I've told her if she ever wants to sell it I get to be first in line. Really neat rifles.

My amigo Tequila Vaquero has one just like it every once in a while he drags it out for a round of trap, He seems to always draw a crowd everyone is impressed even if he misses.

Ordered mine a couple weeks ago and it came in yesterday, I tried it on a 1860 Uberti and 1851 Pietta with Slix nipples and a Remington NMA with Treso's, At first it didn't work the caps weren't staying on then I figured out that I had to put them on firmly and wiggle the capper just a bit before I pulled it off, Putting the cap on and seating at the same time is nice!
I really like not having to fill the inline cappers the darn things took forever to load and I needed 5 or 6 of them for a match, I didn't mind the snail capper for the Colt's but the Polish one is nice since it seats the caps which eliminates one step in the loading process.
