  1. I am a soon-to-be elder statesman who wears tri-focals. I am trying to explain/help my ophthalmologist come up with some prescription shooting glasses. In our discussion we are trying to figure out whether to just dupicate my everyday glasses' prescription (I say no) or flip the prescription, putting the distance lens on bottom and the reading lens on the top. Middle distance would stay the same. Any insight from anyone would be a great help.

  2. Thanks, Keystone. saw Critr last week. Didn’t think about asking him. Had a good visit, though. Left with lighter pockets than I had when I arrived.

    ‘Blessings.

  3. Howdy! Looking for answers/advice on the following:

    1. What do you use to lube and size your cast bullets?

    2. Where can I order prescription shooting glasses. (I used to know but lost my notes.)

    3. I just bought a gas powered golf cart to use at shoots. Where can I get or how do I modify it to carry guns and equipment?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Perusing Pale Wolfs update on allowed modifications I saw carbon fiber magazine tubes allowed as well as knurled tube caps to replace the slotted screw. Where can these items be found/purchased? My brief internet search only turned up CF magazine tube extensions for shotguns.

  5. Again, thanks for posts and prayers.

El Silencio I remember you and the few times we were able to shoot together. Gayle liked you and was proud of you as a student and friend.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. I’m sure she was a great lady based on what I know of you.

    Blessings and prayers.

  6. SASS family,

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang a.k.a. Gayle Majors, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2020. She was my wife, my best friend, my greatest encourager and my Cowgirl. Many of you in Kentucky and Tennessee knew her and she loved and cared about all of you. Although her cancer and other health issues have prevented her participation in SASS the last few years, she kept her membership renewed until this year, when it was apparent that she wouldn't be able to shoot anymore. She loved the sport and the wonderful friends she made over the years. I know several of you have prayed for her and will pray for me. It is much appreciated. If anyone has picutures or video of her participating in our sport, I would appreciate copies.

    Thank you.

  7. Widder,

That was a pretty mean post, since you know I ain't fast.

On the other hand, if you could figure out a way to catch some of them wasp and then use 'em for a bonus on one of the stages at SMSS shoots, it might speed up the match. 'Course gettin' stung should be penalty enough!

  8. Got some once fired 45 Colt brass with mixed head stamps and most of it is stamped "Top Brass 45 Colt Blank" which means, I presume, that the brass was loaded as a blank round. Can I reload this brass as a regular SASS round? A single case weighs at 114.7 grains empty with no spent primer in the pocket. I have some Starline 45 Colt and it weighs 107.2 grains empty with no spent primer in the pocket, so it seems like the Top Brass cases would be sturdy enough. What say you?
