Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363
Melson is out; US Attorney Burke resigns => http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/story/2011-08-30/ATF-chief-Arizona-prosecutor-resign-amid-gun-inquiries/50192398/1 Melson replaced by B. Todd Jones, US Attorney for Minnesota. Anybody know anything about him? Good riddance to Burke - he's the one who argued that families of the dead agents killed with the guns he let slip into Mexico aren't crime victims and aren't entitled to compensation or can sue. Hacker, SASS #55963
CBS Evening News had a reasonable article on this same matter last night. I did however get the feeling that it was at least a little bit of self applause for breaking the story in the first place. The reporter that broke the story was mentioned at least twice by name and station affiliation. If CBS and the rest of the so called "fifth estate" didn't have such a miserable gun track record this might actually seem like a real story. Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363
If CBS and the rest of the so called "fifth estate" didn't have such a miserable gun track record this might actually seem like a real story. The problem with the major news organizations is that they have gone from guardians of the truth to propaganda organs for the socialist agenda. They can't face the fact that their heroes are failures and borderline criminals, and none of their big progressive ideas ever work. Indeed, the outcome is always the exact opposite of the stated aims. All that aside, it looks like they're scrambling to engage in the biggest cover-up since Watergate. By reassigning some people instead of firing them (like they ought to be) they can keep them on a short leash and keep them quiet. Besides the guys at the top, the whistleblower field agents have all been given new assignments. Wouldn't be surprised if they all meet tragic and mysterious ends. It's going to take the actions of one courageous individual on the inside to do a massive data transfer of all pertinent documents to both Congress and the media (they won't be able to ignore it then) to fully expose all the rats involved, from the very top down. When it does, none of us will be surprised where all the fingers point.
