Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363
My favorite local dealer announced today he's doing a voluntary closure rather than deal with ATF anymore. Dammit. They dropped by this morning and found some minor internal bookkeeping they didn't like ... no glaring violations like bad serial numbers or "lost" guns. Just the same, he's decided enough is too much. Hate to see another small businessman go like this. He always had fair prices, a good selection of used & consignment guns, and treated everyone on the square. Just wonder if any other shops are under the microscope too. Coffin Filler #51633
Likely it was the "straw that broke the camels back". The legal BS is a pain but not enough to close a business. With the current economy, less shooting, and harder times ahead it is going to happen to more business that are just barely making it. Sad to see the small shops folding. MMJ#89586
I think this is a bad time to close shop. Every gun shop and show around here is booming. There are waiting lines to get into the shows; that never happened before. And people are buying.
