Howdy all. Where is the best place to order original parts for the Uberti 1873 Lever Gun? I’d prefer to order from an outfit that is SASS friendly - I’m a newbie and buggered up a lever safety spring screw …( and yep I was using my gunsmith screwdriver set)- I figured you’d all have some better ideas than what I can find by using search. Thanks in advance !

This is probably a personal preference (maybe not), what would be your choice for a short stroke kit for an Uberti/Cimarron '73 short rifle in 38-40?

Just a quick question, I'm cleaning my rifle and noticed a witness mark on the inside of the trigger guard where the tip of the trigger just barely touches it when pulled. Are they all that close? The rifle fires fine and I've never had a problem with it, so I was just curious.

I have previously used an Uberti '66 short rifle with a 20" barrel. When inserting the cartridges into the magazine, there was quite a bit of spring tension near the 9th or 10th round, but the cartridges fed reliabily. Now I have switched over to an Uberti '73 sporting rifle with a 24" barrel. Cartridges insert easily, but tend to not feed reliabily for rounds 8-10. I'm thinking that I might cut a 4" piece of 1/2" aluminum rod and insert it between the magazine cap and the spring to increase the spring tension. Does that make sense?

From my past experience with the Uberti Winchester 66, I was advised to have the loading gate reinforced to prevent breakage of the tab at the end facing the magazine. VTI even sells such reinforced loading gates. Now, I have switched over to the Uberti Winchester 73 Sporting Rifle. VTI does not sell a reinforced loading gate and the tab on the 73's loading gate seems much sturdier. Consequently, I'm guessing that it's not necessary to reinforce the loading gate of the 73. Is that a correct assumption? Thanks, --Ranger Dave

I need to fit my firing pin any one know how much it should protrude with tension from the hammer on it It's a 73 uberti rifle. Thanks for any info
