I bought a Mr. BulletFeeder when they first came out & have been using it until recently to make .38's. It has been VERY finicky, with lots of jams, bullets feeding upside down, etc. But, even with the constant adjustments & fixing, I would rather use it than not use it. For the short stretches when it's running problem free, I can really crank out some bullets, sometimes 100 bullets in less than 3 minutes. When they came out with the Gen2 Mr. BulletFeeder, I hoped it would be easier to live with & bought one. About the time I got it set up, (maybe a month or so ago?) I read about the Kevin Roberts version here on the wire. As it turns out, I have less bullets feeding upside down, but pretty much all of the other problems are still there. I'm comfortable there are those of you who have been better at tuning theirs than I am, but I do have those problems. And, if there's nothing better, I would rather use it than not use it for the times when everything is running smoothly & fast. If you're a Kevin Roberts user, what problems/irritations do you have? Does it jam from time to time? How often does it feed bullets upside down? Do the bullets jam when travelling down the spring chute? Just how good is it? If I spent money yet again & tried one, will I love it, or will I have the same love/hate relationship I now have? And, now Dillon has come out with one. They claim 65,000 bullets made without one upside down feed. I don't know just how problem free it is otherwise. If they have shipped any, & if you have one, some feedback would be appreciated. My wife & I shoot every weekend, year-round, & I make a LOT of bullets, so I like to utilize any time & energy saving processes & tools that I can. Thanks in advance!

I have several SDB's and one broke New Years Eve, the lever arm broke on top. I think it was made about Ab Lincon's time , it is a very old machine. Called Dillon and they sent new parts to fix at no cost to me. Second one too break like that. Two new arms and bushings came in the mail today 4 Jan 2020, so SDB is up and running again.Was not a good week as my 550B #7 shell plate also broke. That one cost me $8.50 to ship back to be replaced.The lip that holds the case came off the shell plate (#7). When cast it had a big void and when sizing a .38-55 case and pulling back out it let go. Just two tiny bright spots and a very long gray area under where it broke. It was used so don't know history.Over the years they rebuilt an SDB that I was given that went through a flood and sat in a outbuilding for a year. That one cost shipping there only.All I have ever used is Dillon and one single stage RCBS. Don't know if the other presses carry as good a fix/replace polices.

I needed another powder measure for my 650 & could not find any place on the internet who wasn't in backorder. But, I did find that many do have the 1050 powder measure in stock. I had recently found out that the only difference in these is that the 1050 comes with a heat treated die & costs about $5 additional = $94.95. Ben Stoeger Pro Shop had them in stock, as well as a couple of other goodies I wanted - UniqueTek powder baffle ($10), & the quick release for the measure ($26). He assured me they would ship next day at the latest. Anyway, if you need a powder measure for your 550, 650, 750, if you don't want to wait for a backorder, & if you don't mind paying an extra $5 for the heat-treated die, you can probably buy the 1050 measure many places. Sat down at my old Dillon Square Deal B this afternoon for a function test. First up the powder station since it is the most mechanical and that was working fine. Next up was the sizing and decapping station...357 starts to go in and comes to full stop. What is going on? So, I reach up under to see if I can feel what the problem is, What on earth, there is something surrounding the decapper, I duck my head down and look and discover a 32 S&W Ctg. embedded in my 38/357 die! As near as I can tell about a dozen years ago when I ran out of available time for Cowboy Action and quit reloading, my kid who would have been about nine stuck one of the 32 S&W empties in and yanked the handle! Of course the problem with getting it out wasn't just the die, but the decaper which is held in place by a knurled knob that will with enough force fit into a 32 case. Pulled he tool head off and after putting the die in a vice managed to wiggle and pull the die off, but this still left the case stuck on the knurled knob. Unscrewing did not work since I needed the dang knob and the decapper, if I am ever gonna get this thing up and going again. Screwed the knob (along with the decapper and the 32 bass back in place, with the base of the brass in the vice I twisted it in the tightening direction for the knob as I pulled and suddenly it was loose. Problem fixed! Lesson Learned: it is not enough to secure the primers and the powder, sometimes ya gotta lock up the dang machine!

Does anyone by the fire know how to put 2 powder measures on a Dillon 650. I shoot 45 LC in my 1873 and use "grits" loads to build pressure and keep things clean. I would like to go to a 650 if I could mount 2 powder measures.

Has anyone had trouble with their Dillion 650 prmer feeding tubes not feeding primers? I am reloading 45 LC with large pistol primers. I was using Federal primers and after 2 explosions switched to CCI. Dillon replaced the primer assembly after the explostions and I through the old ones away. Dillion has been great with free parts and shipping, but I am going to my fourth large primer feeding tube now and waiting to it to come in so I can finish this batch of ammo. The primers go down the feeder tube about 2-3 inches then stick, so I take everything apart, clear it and try again. It appears that either CCI or Dillion is not doing a very good job of quality control. I have miced the Starline primer pockets and the CCI primers and they should fit, unless I missed some that were a larger diameter. Does anyone know how to reach CCI? Does anyone have any ideas of how to resolve this?
