  1. I am learning to barrel Marlin lever action rifles. I’ve done two 357 carbines recently as they’ve become too valuable to cut and thread factory barrels (don’t get me wrong, I’ll be glad to cut and thread a customers rifle) I work for a local gun shop and do this for them. I’ve started thinking about using an 1894 action as basically a single shot to understand head spacing these actions better. I’d like to buy a rifle just for this purpose. Not concerned with pretty but need proper functioning. So I’m not too worried about caliber as I’ll use bolts in different rim diameter in this gun, but I’d rather start with a 357. Thank you
