  2. used HWM Bounty Hunter .44mag 6" only have the gun and holster. $350 plus shipping to FFL or meet up in south Louisiana. I've never shot this revolver; my brother bought it from a military buddy and never used it. Clearly, it's been used, I have no idea as to how much.
  3. I'm sure he would beat me pretty easily if he would learn how to properly hold a revolver.
  4. Lots of good advice. Good equipment will help but not as much as transitions. Best advice I can give is transitions runs the stage. Don't try and hide your weaknesses or they will stay your weakness. Not discussed yet is options starting right to left or left to right on a string. That can change the whole stage and the choices you have. I've done alright using anything from a hammer dbl, 3rd gen Colts to a skb and ss low hammer Rugers. Don't get hung up on the split times. 6. Preppin' some Critter Loads for PA State?
  7. @Trigger Mike I found the 3 mag pouch bag for less money on Amazon. https://a.co/d/200Z8Lb
  8. Rover, generally speaking on revolvers you size to the cylinder throat, assuming the throat is larger than the groove diameter. If reversed that is a different story for a different thread. Your Ruger's should be fine with .429. Rifles should have the largest diameter that will RELIBLY chamber in a fouled gun, some 44-40 will chamber .430 when clean but not after a couple stages. In this case drop down to .429. Or just start with 429 in the beginning unless there is a problem. Sizing any lubed bullet down 2/1000 is no problem. Shooting undersize bullets with lube is a leading issue looking for a place to happen. Soft bullets like ours should be at least groove diameter or larger when they leave the cylinder. Shooting undersized coated should not lead unless the coating is broken. Accuracy may suffer, but probably not enough to matter at average SASS distance. Sources? outlawbullets.com I can't speak to coated bullets from personal experience but sizing down a 1000 or two shouldn't be a problem either. T Bone
  9. Evolved to depriming as soon as I get home. Got a Lee APP Press I use for some. Hand held deprimer for others. In the Frankfort Arsinal wet tumbler. I just spread out on old bath towel and let dry. I'm seldom in a rush to reload so it may be a month or more until I get to it.
  10. There are 2 different pouches. One with 3 pockets and one with 6. Here is the 3 pocket one: https://www.wiskurtactical.com/prod/GLTRBOOD.html Here is the 6 pocket one: https://www.wiskurtactical.com/prod/GLMP30BAG.html This is the one that there is only 1 left.
  11. UPDATE: I just backed off the station 5 crimp die and then started it down until its crimp made it through the case checker. Here is a bullet after stage 4 (bullet seating with no crimp. Here is the new bullet with just enough crimp to slide into the case checker. Does this look like enough crimp to you guys? I loaded 60 rounds after this adjustment without anymore crinkles. Hopefully that fixed it. I did find station 5 die loose and not tight against the head like it should have been. Guessing it worked itself loose and I never caught it until now. I still plan on taking it down and doing a good cleaning of the plate and head area. Thanks everyone for the input. TM
  12. I absolutely love the .44 Russian cartridge! When I had a pair of 1872 Open Tops in .44 Special/Colt/Russian I shot 44 Russia.
  13. Beautiful rifle, La Sombra needs to buy it so one of us doesn't. LOL TM
  14. I had a set exactly like that when I was a kid. Had a BB gun and a SS 22 rifle on them in my bedroom! To be clear, it was mid 60s!! (not 50s)

  16. I'm quite amazed at the response from a couple posts on I made this morning on reloading shotgun shells with a roll crimp. My email and text blew up! So I wrote a quick article on my web page with way too many pictures and videos to post here. Hope it helps! https://rvbprecision.com/firearms/black-powder-shotgun-reloads-with-roll-crimp.html
