  3. "...i.t sounds like he was guilty of involuntary manslaughter. If found guilty let's hope the judge holds him to the same standards as Reed..........." im in favor of that and i agree with this assessment of the circumstances , my big cpomplaint with him is that he says he didnt pull the trigger - we all know otherwise
  4. Next month La Sombra will be sitting at the kitchen table filling primer tubes by hand, and thinking "dang I wish I still had that filler, what was I thinking?"
  5. Actually, he really only needs BRASS in 44wcf. As Coffinmaker mentioned, you can fireform 44wcf brass to .45 Colt and the thin brass works just as well to seal the 45 chamber as it did the 44 chamber. I've heard of this for years, and considered it briefly but then I already shoot BP in 44-40, 32-20, and .38, so I even though I shot mucho BP in my .45 and .44 Spcl rifles years ago, I only put smokeless in them these days. Although regarding fireforming 44wcf, I'm wondering how many will get split in the process? And since I don't plan on shooting the .45 with BP, I've never even considered annealing and then keeping those segregated from pistol brass, etc. But like Bull says, if you are in this game for a while you will be getting more guns. So consider a dash caliber for your next rifle. Also, I can understand how a full case of powder can be a lot of recoil in a .45, but if you are also concerned that it will be too loud and smokey, well then I feel sorry for you.

  14. This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ My wife and I own two propertie, one behind the other.... xxx45 and xxx47 We bought xxx47 in 2010 after the previous owner (alcoholic, gambling addict and meth user) was forclosed on. Only one way in and we didn't want any future neighbors like them again! Anyway they demolished the house and gutted it, copper piping removed, electrical ripped out, plumbing scavenged to the point it is not habitable. At least a couple times a week I get mail for them from treatment facilities, Nigerian princes, credit card companies, gamblers anonymous etc. Used to drop them off at PO with "no longer at this address" in large print every so often, until I started getting the ones I had written on back in the mail box. Now as I walk past the trash can I just drop them into a different kind of "box" Regards Gateway Kid
  15. Well Now aren’t you full of helpful advice. He said he didn’t know anything about loading BP or subs so I gave him my best advice. He really only needs a rifle in 44 WCF. I load for 5 calibers for my 5 sets of pistols. When you’ve been playing this game for several years you accumulate a few pistols. I only have rifles in one caliber, 44 WCF. I used to have a 73 in 45 colt but traded for a 44-40 because it makes BP shooting much much more enjoyable. I’m sure he can trade rifles for a relatively modest sum. If he can’t afford a couple hundred bucks to trade rifles, how is he gonna afford thousands of rounds of ammo or the equipment and components to load his own plus the shooting fees and gas to drive to matches?
  16. I only keep notes on my long range guns... A steno pad with notes on the load for the particular rifle. Each page is dedicated to a particular load (bullet weight in most cases) to include all oad details, group sizes and renderings of the sight settings for various distances. I.e.: for the Sharps and it's extra long range staff, settings for 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 800 & 1,000 yard, So far I have pages for 330, 350, 370 & 400 grains pills... (none of which have any 1,000 yard data yet. If the load doesn't do 1 MOA, it doesn't get recorded. For the .30-30 Winchester 94 & it's custom tang sight, which scribed line is what yardage... Beginning @ 50, 100, 150, 200, 300 & 400 yards. Each cartridge is marked by a tab glued to the edge of the page. Different bullets weight each have their own page. For the scoped guns, it's noted which mark is "zero", and whether that's 75, 100 or 150 yards. And how many clicks it takes to add 100 yards to the range. I have yet to make a page for the externally adjusted scope on the .32-40 HiWall. Still tweeking that load to do 1 MOA at 200 yards!
  17. so basically exactly what i thought - they make chit up and publish it as news and its really lies , no truth , no facts , nothing of any value there , exactly why i dont listen to the MSM or most blogs and such ,
