Thomas Edison believed that alternating current was a deadly safety hazard, and recommended DC. Problem was that it required relay stations be built closely for transmission, which AC does not. He and Nikoli Tesla were at odds over the question. Eventually, AC won on economics. However, I can remember that as a young boy, downtown Chicago was on DC!  They finally switched over to AC.

Tesla got cheated by George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison. A genius before his time.

By the way. getting zapped by either system really hurts, no matter what the hertz.

Interesting stuff, and overall a cool video.

However, when A I creates pictures like this it makes my teeth feel fuzzy!  😬

I watch a video on the history of shot towers. While the narration was informative the AI was so bad that it detracted from what they were talking about.
