Catgut Cav Posted October 1 Posted October 1 I posted in another thread about my disappointment in the Uberti competition model not being as smooth as I expected. So, some unplanned action work is in its future. What are the go to kits for lightening the springs? Looking for lever, carrier and main/hammer springs. Thanks Quote

Fill Yer Hand Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Shotgun boogie makes great lever springs, unfortunately he does not sell a stand alone hammer springs. I’ve found this spring to be the one that is the smoothest and most reliable. https://onlineoutpost.net/collections/rifle/products/light-duty-mainspring-hammer-spring-1873-1866-1860-by-the-smith-shop 1 Quote
Taos Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Also, try to find torx screws for the lever and lifter springs. SG Boogie might have them. #10 torx. If you find them at a hardware store you may have to grind the head of the screw to a smaller diameter and cut the right side screw shorter or it will foul the loading gate. It's all easy and well worth th effort. Good luck Quote

The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted October 1 Posted October 1 To lighten the hammer spring a bit. Try either a #8 or #10 AN washer between the spring and lever frame. Quote
Catgut Cav Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 Springs have been ordered. I'll run it as is until I can get them installed. Thanks for the recommendations. 1 Quote
