The Bill of Rights was written and ratified to prevent public opinion from interfering with the natural, (God given, if you prefer) rights of the individual citizen!!

 

That being said, it appears, to me at least, that a poll that only includes fewer than a thousand people is hardly an accurate representation of public opinion!  If the sample is the same as the one that many of these polls draw their conclusions from, I find it even more suspect!!
