Guardians play on Saturday. Same here. I'm pretty disappointed with the MLB though. Out of the four games on today/tonight, only 2 of the Wildcard games are on regular tv channels. The other two are on pay channels and I sure as hell will not pay NBC/Peacock to watch anything on their network. 2 Quote

Guardians play on Saturday. It was Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS between the Red Sox and Yankees that got my wife hooked on baseball. A 14 inning, do or die game for Boston. I'd been listening on the radio on my way home from work and turned on the TV when I got home. She got home about 15 minutes later, reminded me of a show she wanted to watch at 6. It was the 8th and Boston was down. "It's the 8th, only one more inning." Then Boston tied it in the 9th. She really knew nothing about the game, and was a bit irked that it kept going. "Only 9 innings, huh?" has been a running gag ever since. In the 11th I started explaining things, making my guesses at what the pitcher would do, if the batter would swing, and why is thought that. In the 13th she started doing it. Next day I got home, was just setting my stuff down in the kitchen when she walked in. "Why isn't the game on?" Yep, she was hooked. Perhaps when the last of the players, managers, and executives involved in the Houston cheating episode are out of the game and no longer associated with the day to day operations, those of us who have real respect for the game will let it pass!! The less than a slap on the wrist that the players and the organization received was an affront to baseball fans everywhere and doesn’t reflect sportsmanship in any shape or fashion!! Blackwater 53393 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Never liked Atlanta! Don’t know which would make me happier, to see them eliminated now or to see ‘em lose game seven of the World Series in the fifteenth inning on a bases loaded walk! Only the team from the gulf coast of Texas is lower on my list!! Quote
Rye Miles #13621 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 (edited) I remember when cable TV came around and TBS had the Braves on. They became America’s team because of that. My dad used to watch them all the time and so did I. They had a great pitching staff. I’ve always liked the Braves never had any allegiance to the Phillies. So I say GO BRAVES, Hope to meet you in the World Series with the Guardians. Too bad they weren’t still the Indians! How cool would that be? The Indians vs the Braves! 😎🤠 Edited October 1 by Rye Miles #13621 1 Quote

Cypress Sun Posted Sunday at 11:29 PM Posted Sunday at 11:29 PM I wonder when these relief pitchers are going to learn that even though you can throw a 104 mph fastball, it doesn't mean anything unless you can get it in the strike zone. 1 Quote
