Each of the amendments that comprise the Bill of Rights is a limitation on the Federal Government, not a limitation on citizens.

If everyone did what they’re supposed to do, we wouldn’t need a government!!

 

If the government did only what it was supposed to do, we wouldn’t need a constitution!

 

Unfortunately, neither of those things is going to happen all the time, SO, we have to have both and the people have to stand up and demand that the government follow the Constitution!

My brother, the fault in that is that so many people do nothing but bitch about the government and bad laws but will not get off their lazy butts to do anything.    They spend more time, money, thought, and effort on sports, movies, back yard parties, fancy cars and popular fashions than they do on these things that actually matter.  I personally know dozens of these people who are nice enough folks.  They go to church, help the needy, take care of their neighbors and their neighbor's pets, etc.  A frightenly large number don't vote...have never voted.  Way too many believe the crap they hear on TV, from their churches pulpits, read in the newspapers or magazines or on the internet.

 

Don't believe it?  Pick a dozen simple questions about government, laws, political comments, etc and prepare to be blown away by the truly  stupid answers that you're going to get.
