Yul Lose Posted Friday at 01:45 AM Posted Friday at 01:45 AM (edited) In 1973 I was living in Sheridan, Wyoming and working for a dry cleaning outfit called City Cleaners. The owner Max Lowe was born in 1890 and had a bunch of old Colts, Winchesters, Merwin Hulberts and other guns in an upstairs storage area. In the main room of the ground floor behind the counter he had a number of these signs and other old signs on the wall. Him and his wife had a cabin up in the Big Horn mountains that they’d escape to on weekends and fish and relax. He had me go up with him one weekend so that I could help him repair a broken window on the cabin. He had so many stories to tell about Sheridan and the surrounding areas that were really interesting. He had a few of these “ammunition signs” on the walls and when we were getting the cabin closed up and getting ready to go he told me to pick one of them out as a reward for helping him out. I wasn’t expecting anything so I gladly accepted it. It was one of my prized possessions but I lost it in the divorce about 15 years later. I often wondered what happened to all of his old guns, gunbelts, hats, buffalo robe coats and those ammunition signs when he passed. Edited Friday at 01:46 AM by Yul Lose 2 2 Quote
