For those who have watched the TV Series 'The Walking Dead'

Never seen it before last night, we watched Season 1 episode 1 & 2 and are hooked!

 

If you were one of the survivors, what would your firearms of choice be?

 

P.S I see that there's many seasons of the show, does it stay good or lose its way?

The first nine years of the show were pretty good. It started to go downhill about 3/4 of the way through season 10 during the Covid plague. After the original Walking Dead series ended, I didn't bother to watch any of the spin-offs.

 

The original spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead, was okay for the first 2 seasons or so but then it nosedived into mediocrity and unbelievability....even for a show about dead people coming back to life and eating anything living.

 

I won't tell you any in depth details so I don't spoil it for y'all. It's a fun show to watch, I hope y'all enjoy it.

 

Firearms? A .22 for the Walkers and a 9mm for the humans as ammo/parts for both would be plentiful. I'd round up a Dillon 550 or two also.

I almost stopped watching it during the very first episode when Rick told another officer to turn the safety off on his firearm, a Glock, just before Rick got shot and ended up in the hospital....glad I continued watching it.

I missed that.......I don't like how much wobble he has in his holster though!

That looked like a really nice old vintage car that they trashed in the car chase in Ep1

Yeah, I was not happy when they crashed that GTO in episode one. I thought, what a waste!

The loose, slop of a holster stays with Rick throughout his entire role in the series. I don't remember it ever falling out by some movie magic miracle though.

 

Later on in the series, they have the original semi trailer from Smokey and the Bandit playing a small role in the storyline. That was kind of cool.

A very good series. Not just a show about zombies. It’s about the humanity and inhumanity of people faced with the apparently impossible task of surviving in a changed reality.

A very apt description.

 

In the later seasons an entire show will follow one group of characters, then the next show will "tune in" on a different group of characters.  So you might go one or two episodes and never see Rick, or Carol, or whoever.  For this reason I've said that the show would have been hard to keep up with when it first aired and you only got to watch one episode a week.  IOW, best to binge watch.

Make sure the firearm in question is suppressed. You don't want a herd of zombies running up on you if a report gives away your position.

We're hooked, it's great being able to watch multiple episodes a night and not have to wait a week between.
