Diamond Jake Posted Wednesday at 10:11 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:11 PM You may not have seen the post from Outlaw Bullets in the SASS Merchants Corner, but he is providing three long range rifles and ammo for anyone wanting to shoot Long Range at the Southeast Regional Sept 24-26 at Cavern Cove, AL. We're having the traditional Long Range side match on Thursday, then on Friday afternoon we're having a "Mini Quigley" off hand event. Any registered shooter is eligible. If you shoot your main match rifle, you'll be shooting relatively closer targets (Somewhere between 50 and 75 yards). If you shoot a large bore rifle like a Sharps, Rolling Block, 1885, or Big Bore lever gun, you'll be shooting longer range, but less than 200 yards. Everyone gets at least three shots, then we keep shooting "miss and you're out" until only one shooter is left. Everyone and every gun type is in a single category. The free trial guns from Outlaw Bullets will be available for both events, as long as there's ammo left. (During Side Match Thursday you can shoot the loaner guns a couple times, or shoot all ten shots for score in the match.) Here's an excerpt from T Bone Johnson's post on the Merchant Corner. Thanks T Bone! " To kick off our CLR series of bullets, Outlaw Bullets will supply to Diamond Jake, the ramrod of the long range side match Two 45-70 rifles with ammo for anyone wanting dip into long range for as long as the ammo last. In other words go early! Also we will have a Marlin Cowboy in 38-55 for the rifle caliber lever category with ammo. The two 45-70's are a Remington rolling block copy and a Uberti 1885 model. If you ever wanted to ding some steel way out there, here's your chance for no money down. Before you ask, the answer is yes..... it is a shameless attempt to sell bullets. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Lady J, Pops Corbin and T Bone Johnson..." 6 1 Quote

Double Barrel, SASS 34765 Posted Thursday at 04:49 PM Posted Thursday at 04:49 PM The Outlaw Bullets gang is some of the finest people around. They need to quit working so much so they can come back and shoot with us. 2 Quote

Full retirement is getting closer by the day, then I'll be a full-time cowboy. Ye-Ha. Outlaw Bullets would not be possible without the fine folks that shoot cowboy action. The most loyal , honest and friendliest customer base I have ever dealt with in my whole career. At least we are on the same posse at regional, looks like a fun group. We will have 150 rounds of ammo for each rifle, so that is at least 30 shooters counting for some sighters. hopefully they will be ten rounds left on the Marlin so I can shoot the offhand mini match on Friday afternoon. No worries if not I'll shoot my main match rifle. Honestly I hope no ammo is left, that means a lot of folks had a lot of fun. Ya'll go easy on Diamond Jake and be sure to say thanks for running the cowboy long range side match. He has put a lot of work into it to make it a fun match. T Bone 2 1 Quote
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted Thursday at 08:05 PM Posted Thursday at 08:05 PM I think I'm going to swing by and give that 45-70 a try. It looks like a lot of fun. I've just never had the rifle to try it out. Quote

He was trying to figure out how to fund a new rifle before the sun set. I offered to trade for his new pair of Rugers but he declined. But you know you will have to check your gunfighter ways at the door and slow down just a tad with those long guns. T Bone 2 Quote

And T-Bone made my transition from the old Outlaw Bullets to full retirement easy. Glad you're doing so well, T-Bone! 1 Quote
