Wes Flowers .357 New Vaquero pair

Consecutive pair of .357 New Vaqueros with full house Wes Flowers package, Short Stroke, "Run like a Colt" with clicks. slicked up action.

 

Lightly used, mostly spent time in a safe as I'm no longer in CAS.

 

I did use the Brownell Ruger action wrench to tweak the barrels for POI with 105 gr. Meister bullets.  Cut down the front sight for zero.  It also likes 125's but regulated for 100 gr. category bullets.

 

I fitted fancy walnut grips, installed Ruger Medallions, sent the stocks to Errol Case in MO for his magic.  He's great at carving and checkering, as you can see.

 

These guns are 98% condition with minor handling marks, minor holster wear.  The cylinders have the characteristic Ruger ring, which is gonna be on any current Ruger shot much at all.

 

I'll ship FFL to FFL, insured for $2,750.  Internet value of these guns with full house Wes Flowers action jobs, and consecutive numbers, runs up to around $3,000, not considering the custom grips.   Google it.  I did.

My first set of new short stroked guns were from Wes.  Loved them guns. Use to see him n chat it up with him in Tombstone.    Was honored to know him personally up until his passing.

I never met him, just sent him these guns for his full house treatment

Not sure, but he was a pioneer in CAS gunsmithing, sure knew what he was doing.

 

It wouldn't surprise me to learn he was the first.

 

It's amazing how fast his actions were.  My short stroked Rugers would out run my Gen III Colts.  And the way I tweaked the POI for 105 gr. Meisters was the way to go.

 

Shot like target guns with that bullet and a Clays load.  They also liked 125's.

These guns are tack drivers with the right load, regulated carefully to POI.

 

Won't find many fixed sighted revolvers that shoot this close to POA.

 

They are super fast with Wes' short stroke and full house action job.

 

They need a new home with a serious CAS shooter.

The ivory stocked, engraved Gen III .38 Spec. pair I posted earlier and sold, were/are prettier than these Rugers.

 

BUT, these Rugers will smoke them on a fast shoot.  And, although not as fancy, are probably tougher, suitable for heavy use over time.

 

The fancy walnut, carved and checkered grips are pretty unique and do enhance their overall look.

 

I've tried to price them according to what I'm reading about full house Wes Flowers Rugers.   There seems to be a niche market for these guns.

 

I'll answer questions, send extra photos, etc.  I even have a big jug of Clays I'll throw in, but don't want to ship it, a definite plus for Louisiana shooters.   A local face to face for powder and guns would be a plus for everyone.

 

Clays with the 105 Meister was the load they were regulated for dead on POI.  

 

Just let me know.

I'm in a cleaning house mood.   Gonna make someone a super deal...

 

This is for  a CAS shooter who buys these Wes Flowers Rugers and who can do a face to face.  Attention you Louisiana folks.  I know you're around 2 hrs away, but I will meet you half way.  I don't think the cart will come apart, some Redneck may have glued it together.  But it don't rattle, is tight.  Always hauled it in my pickup.  Would probably also fit in a full sized SUV.

 

I'm gonna throw in a big jug of Clays.  Now, I've used a bit, but it's still pretty heavy.  Haven't shot CAS in a while, so it's probably near full.

 

AND, I'm gonna include this cart with umbrella.  Not sure what this unit cost, but it needs to go, just in the way.

 

Now, ya not gonna get a better package deal than that....

 

Alexandria is right in the middle of the state for you Texicans and Mississippi shooters.  I'm figuring half way to be around an hour drive. for each of us.

They say with the 105 Meister or similar, 2.5-3 gr. Clays works.  IIRC, I ran around 2.7 gr.

 

I used mostly Fed 100's, but CCI 500's are good.

 

The way Wes set up these gun, NEVER had a light strike or failure to fire with these primers.

 

Plenty of spring power and still very slick.  The Master's touch.

I actually went to Meister when company was in Phoenix many, many years ago when I flew in for Winter Range match Phoenix  I picked bullets up and suit-cased them home.  Man how times have changed.  That was probably 2000 or 2001.  Meister was fine bullet and great company to deal with.

I think they are std. NV hammers, altered to short stroke by Wes.

 

I have some interested in just the guns, shipped to where ever.

 

I'd rather do the package deal, even have a good supply of 125 gr. bullets I'll include.

 

But, won't rule out shipping the guns, which won't be cheap, FFL to FFL with adequate insurance.
