TN Williams and his pet BuckTooth Possum

I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen 'IT' with my own 2 eyeballs.

 

TW has a pet bucktooth Possum.....and he's taught 'IT' to do tricks.

 

TW takes his index finger, points it at the Possum and says...."POW".

The Possum falls flat on the ground and rolls over on its back and plays dead. (or paralyzed).

 

IT stays on the ground till TW says...."Get up", and IT gets back up and walks back over to IT's cage.

 

I was astounded and told TW that was one of the most amazing pet tricks I've ever seen or heard of.

TW says..."oh, that was nothing.  The hard part was getting IT to understand English".

 

The Possums name is 'IT'.    Being intrigued by that name, I ask why he named the possum...IT.

 

He said IT was a transpossum!     I should have known better than ask.

We had a Rat Terrier when I was growing up named Susie. She was one smart dog. She'd play dead also.

 

Years later, I had another smart dog, a Black Lab/Mix named Alex. He played dead pretty good, well sorta....if it hadn't been for his tail!
