Muggins Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Looking for a 1887 with action work done by one of the reputable 1887 gunsmiths to reliably load 2. Not interested in PW87s or Chiappas. Not interested in factory/stock guns, or a finicky 1887 that could load two with the right technique. Only interested in match ready '87s. Let me know what you have sitting in your safe that you've been neglecting, who did the work (which modification), and how much you want to ship it to Alabama. Thanks. 1 1 Quote

Muggins Posted August 6 Author Posted August 6 I called Lassiter, but being a talented man in high demand, he’s backed up until November or December - and I would still need an ‘87 shipped to me (to buy), then shipped to him for action work, and then shipped back to me. That’s a lot of shipping I’d prefer to avoid, if able. 1 Quote
Bailey Creek,5759 Posted Sunday at 07:14 PM Posted Sunday at 07:14 PM You can purchase an 87 and have it shipped to him. That would eliminate a step. Quote

Contact Eric Slater at Slater's in House Guns. He is an excellent 87 gunsmith and dealer for the new Cimarron 87s. 865-591-5129 or: slatersihg@gmail.com 1 1 Quote
Muggins Posted Sunday at 10:26 PM Author Posted Sunday at 10:26 PM I spoke with Slater last week as well. It’s definitely a viable route for getting a new, slicked up ‘87. I figured I’d at least ask and see if there were any members that were tired of having an ‘87 take up room in their gun safe that they wanted to offload first and then compare the options. I’m really surprised Todd German hasn’t reached out yet. He usually has every gun in stock or at least knows a guy who has what a shooter is looking for and is willing to sell for a good price. yes, that last part is a joke. 2 2 Quote
Muggins Posted Tuesday at 07:31 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 07:31 PM Each week thousands of shooters take their double-barreled or pump action tent stake to the range for SASS matches while sad, lonely ‘87s sit neglected in gun safes. These scatterguns deserve their day in the sun too. With your help, we can connect a lonesome 1887 with a cotton-headed ninny Muggins. I’m still looking (contemplating options) for a right-priced, match-ready 1887. 1 1 Quote

True but given we are not tripping over a slew of Race Ready 87s on the wire, it just might be the quickest way for him to realize his dream. Hope he can fined one Quote

John Kloehr Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Good to hear you found what you sought. Not even sure i have seen a '87 in person. SxS is easy to get running with in this sport, '97 takes more practice just to not look like an idiot. No clue about the '87, am curious. On edit: I did watch the video above, just not sure I have ever seen one in person. Edited 7 hours ago by John Kloehr Quote
