Usually we get 3 days of triple digit weather in August, we have had 10+ days so far. We have put off our plans to go camping fishing because of the high risk of forest fires in the outback. After Labor Day the crowds disappear and weather tends to be much cooler. A wonderful state but as I sit right now with coffee cup in hand, my eyes and chest hurt and I cannot see the High Uintas range just North of the house because of the smoke 😕 If in N Central Utah a interesting sit is the Rocket Place. They have an actual rocket from every one they have ever made. The size of one Saturn Rocket is unreal and there was 5 in the space craft. Very interesting since my wife's cousin was on Apollo 13. 3 Quote

There was a nearby fire camp. I did not see or smell any smoke. I avoided travel through forests and checked state travel condition maps and had no delays. The SW Monsoon is in progress, but we are getting more 100+ degree, dry afternoons than thunderstorms. My irrigation pump is getting a workout. Quote

The rocket garden at what is now Northrop. I worked there at ATK. The golden spike isn’t far from the rocket garden. 1 Quote

There are three SASS clubs that shoot at the Big Salty Range in Salt Lake City. The 1st, 3rd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Wild bunch if the month has a 5th Saturday. You can find info about all three clubs at www.utahwar.com All the smoke in the air from all the wild fires in the northern hemisphere make the sunsets look pretty.
