Alpo Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Saw this meme on another board and I don't get it. That's the good guy at the In-N-Out Burger. Got that. The girl behind him. I'm sure she was added to the picture to make the meme, but I have no idea who it is so I have no idea why this is supposed to be funny. Quote
John Kloehr Posted August 4 Posted August 4 It is Sophie Cunningham, basketball player. It seems she pointed at someone over a technical foul, and it went viral. https://www.facebook.com/FoxNews/posts/a-definitive-list-of-the-best-sophie-cunningham-pointing-memes-that-are-taking-o/1461227709200420/ 2 1 Quote

Truth is that 99.99% of the US doesn't follow or watch WBA and could care less. If it wasn't for the media, no one would know who Cunningham is Quote

I’m no basketball expert and not even a fan of the NBA but she’s a great player. Sophie Cunningham is also decent! I’ll watch some of the game if the Indiana Fever is playing just to see them. I can’t watch a whole game of the NBA either. The last ten minutes is fun if it’s close! 1 Quote

Blackwater 53393 Posted August 4 Posted August 4 The networks make a big deal out of WNBA and MSL because those organizations buy huge blocks of TV time!! They come in with their sponsors already lined up, which induces other sponsors to sign on because of the coverage they get! When RJ Reynolds/Winston sponsored NASCAR, they bought those chunks of time and many other sponsors signed on. They also sponsored drivers and teams, just to get their logo on TV during the events. When the tobacco industry became persona non grata in the communications industry, the sponsors that replaced them didn’t pump in the same amount of money and support, so the networks had to go out and get sponsors! It’s one of the reasons that coverage has dwindled in motorsports! Somebody is watching. The sponsors don’t stay if it’s not bringing in customers and money! 1 Quote
