I got me a set of Cimarron Model P's in 32-20 that I want to use for Dualist and Gunfighter, but I got me some short thumbs. I got lucky once before finding a set for my 38-40's, I thought I'd try again.

I need a set of lowered hammers; I think they call them the "Running Iron" hammers.  These would be for Uberti SAA's

if anyone can help me, please let me know what you have and how you want to be paid.

Thanks for looking.

Send a PM to Choctaw Silver Wolf on this forum. He lowered my hammers for a very reasonable fee and had them back to me in a week.

+1 for Choctaw

I've had Choctaw graft a set of Super Blackhawk thumb pads on a set of Pietta 61 navy BP hammers, and the work is fantastic. The problem here is I'd like the larger pads here too. Along with keeping the stock hammers in case I ever have to sell.

Still looking, I hope they are out there somewhere!

Taylor's has them in stock for $194.35 each. Cimarron has lowered Pietta hammers for $88.43 each. Cimarron may also have the Uberti hammers, but they are not listed. Give them a call. Not all the parts are listed on the website.

VTI doesn't have the lowered hammers listed, but they may also have some. They are helpful if you give them a call.

Thanks Mongo, I'll be making some calls when I get home from work. Much appreciated.

Have you thought about having them cut and lowered with the existing hammers? there is a gunsmith that does that. It might be cheaper and easier than finding the lowered hammers

Maddog Mark, Yes as referenced above, Choctaw Silver Wolf has already done a set for other pistols of mine, but I do not want to cut up the stock hammers, which means I need to buy a set of already lowered hammers or another stock set to get modified. It would be easier if I could find a set that someone isn't gonna use, and buy them up!
