Stoeger Coach not Openning

Many thanks for your comments and concern. Discovered the problem was the firing pins were sticking in the dummy rounds I was using. I usually do not pull the triggers when using dummy rounds in my sg, just practice loading, aiming, and shucking, but today I did. Shame on me! Anyway, problem solved and I am ready for for tomorrow's match!

Setting aside the consideration of triggers pulled or not...

Any wiggle at all when the lever is all the way to the side? Having been inside mine a few times, a worn cam or wear on the mating surface on the lock lever could/would cause this. Could remove the stock to have a look.

I'm not sure how the lever attaches to the cam, speculating a sheared pin would prevent the cam from moving at all so then there would not be any wiggle. This would not change by having triggers cocked or not. But for either (or any) cause, why two guns at the same time?

The lever(s) are not moving at all.

I've seen that with the steel heads in the cheap Walmart type Winchesters. Many years ago a Pard had that issue and I tried his shells on one stage with my Stoeger that is/was flawless. Same thing happened on mine, I had to bang it over my knee to get it open!! Never tried those silver ones again and never have had an issue since. They seem to get stuck in the chamber and the extractors won't push them out without a lot of force.

Just a thought.

Although I could still move the lever. It just didn't open.

OK, let me see if I understand. And is this a single or double trigger gun?

[deleted stuff, I had something backwards]

Do you have casings in the gun or does this happen with empty chambers too?

With triggers pulled, lever opens gun.

Open gun fully to cock hammers, then close gun.

Lever now does not open gun.

Pull trigger(s).

Lever now opens gun.

If single trigger, do you have to pull it twice to open the gun? If double trigger, does the problem happen if only one of the triggers is pulled (see if only a specific trigger causes the problem) or do both need to be pulled. Do you have casings in the gun or does this happen with empty chambers too?

He's just the opposite, it will open with triggers not pulled. Maybe the firing pins are not retracting completely after firing.

Saw it proof-reading my post, edited it out. Leaving the additional questions.
