FYI An 1866 carbine stock will also fit an 1873 only the comb is supposedly slightly different. Unnoticable to me. Ive had an 1866 stock on my 1873 for years.

Does anyone know for sure if a stock for an “1873 Winchester”. Would fit an Uberti 1873?  Without taking my Mirakou apart, they look identical?

The Cimarron website says that they have them in stock. I bought a carbine stock from them a few months ago. They are much cheaper there than Taylor's or VTI.

 

One word of caution, call and talk to them before ordering. I ordered from the website and was sent a 66' carbine stock instead of the 73' - the 66' carbine stock is a little oversized where it contacts the receiver. Make sure they are shipping you the correct stock. Returning the 66' was a pain.

I believe even the 1894 Stock also will fit the 1873 and the 1866.

Nope . The 1873 and 1866 are interchangeable.

The 1876 and 1886 are interchangeable.

The 1892 and the 1894 are interchangeable.

I can't say that still would have any but when I needed one a guy recommend calling Cimarron and asking for a "scratch and dent" or a "second".

They made a very good deal on a second set.  Forstock was perfect butt stock had a scratch but the problem was the butt plate had a gap between the wood.

Since I strip off the red goo uberti puts on anyway it was pretty simple to take a little bit of offending wood away.

Plus it came with all the new metal and screws again for a very low price

Sorry T.K., a 1866 carbine stock will fit an 1873 carbine, but there will be a noticeable amount of extra wood sticking out on both sides of the receiver. The brass receiver of the 66' is just a little wider.  I just went through this two months ago after buying an extra stock to cut for my wife's 1873 carbine. I didn't feel like removing the extra wood on the 66' stock they sent me. The butt plate is also brass on the 1866 carbine stock. Cimarron replaced it with the correct stock - no fitting was required when using the correct 1873 stock.
