Alpo Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Water balloons? When I saw the stuff flying off the fire truck, my first thought was candy. They used to do that at the Christmas parade when I was a kid. But the big teen/young 20s folks seemed awful happy to get it. Then I thought beer. But throwing cans of beer at the crowd seem like it would be dangerous especially with little kids there, and the young folks was throwing it back, so I decided it wasn't beer. So the best I can come up with is water balloons. 1 Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Our "small town" has grown almost 12% in the twelve years since we moved here. It has caused a lot of "big town" problems, but I still can't imagine living anywhere else. Quote

Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 That's somewhat more benign than the old practice of throwing silver dollars at the Police Chief's car during the Calgary Stampede Parade! 2 Quote

Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Before I can remember we lived for a year in Unity, Oregon, population 28 at that time. Dad worked for the Forest Service doing lake and stream surveys and the house, utilities and everything else were provided at no cost to my parents. Many years later I was in the area and went to see the place. It had grown considerably to 36 people. The little house was still there. 3 Quote
