Badlands Bob #61228 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 (edited) It is with a sad heart that I report that my friend and traveling buddy, Krazy Kajun has died. He and his wife Cheryl were found deceased at their home in Jefferson, Ga during a welfare check. They had been married for 50 years and have two grown sons. The GBI is handling the investigation, and I don't have any further information at this time. Kajun has been involved in Cowboy Action shooting for at least 15 years and has traveled extensively with his camper around the Southeast. He handled the registration and posse assignments for the Georgia State match for many years. He was a regular shooter at 4 different clubs in North Georgia, and he was the match director for the Cherokee Cowboys for 4 years. He's going to leave a big hole around here. He was a good friend and I will miss him. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time. Edited July 1 by Badlands Bob #61228 30 Quote
La Sombra Posted July 1 Posted July 1 NO! Not him. Greg and I had become friends over the past few years shooting. He was a quick wit and always ready for fun. He and @Tennessee williams were always going back and forth with voodoo and hoodoo. 😪 We are diminished by his passing. La Sombra 4 4 Quote
I. M. Crossdraw, SASS# 8321 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 This is surely a sad day. Shot with him at various major matches in the southeast specially at the Florida State and SE Regional, a great competitor and BP shooter. He and his wife will surely be missed. Prayers and condolences to family and friends. 1 Quote
T-Square Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Krazy Kajun was an exceptional engineer and one of the finest cowboys a person could ever hope to meet. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor, a generous spirit, and an unwavering willingness to help others. Behind his quick wit and fast shooting was a patient mentor, a loyal friend, and a genuinely good man who made everyone around him better. 6 Quote

Max Payne Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Ophelia Payne & I have lost one of our very best friends. We always traveled & camped with Kajun & Badlands Bob to out of town shoots for 12 or 14 years now. Nobody had to worry about carrying the conversation with Kajun around. We’ve worked closely together for many years on the Georgia State Championship, handling registration & camping coordination, along with many other tasks. He was funny, generous, & a great friend, always ready to help others with anything. Kajun was a strong Christian man, & I know the Lord has him in a special place, probably handling registration of new arrivals. Badlands Bob, Ophelia Payne & I have lost an important piece of our future shooting & camping adventures. Gonna miss you buddy. 10 Quote

Preacherman Posted July 1 Posted July 1 😓Like everyone else, what to say? I am without words. What a great guy! The only positive thing about this is that I KNOW that we will meet again. They were Believers! We all have an appointment, Heb 9:27. Make sure that you're there, I'll be looking. 4 2 Quote

Dantankerous Posted July 1 Posted July 1 So sorry to read this. I possed with him once several years ago and he made that posse come absolutely alive with fun and energy. After meeting him I thought he simply embodied the spirit and character of one of those "one in a million" folks you sometimes get lucky to meet in life. Many condolences to his family. 4 Quote
