ever find yourself saying "I love you""

Just as something to say?

 

I was talking to my ex sister-in-law. I do not recall why I had called her. Possibly she had called me. This was late 90s, so almost 30 years ago.

 

But at the end of the phone conversation she says, "bye-bye. I love you", and I responded, "I love you".

 

I don't love her. I don't even really like her. So why did I say that? Because she said it to me. It's like someone says "thank you" and you automatically say "you're welcome".

 

Ever see yourself saying that?

Had a coworker (she was a major at the time) who was talking to a general officer on the phone. When they finished the call, she said “love you, good bye” … you should have seen the look on her face after she hung up and realized what she said!

I told my Dad "I'll talk to you later Hun" when I hung up the phone once.

The stuff that done knowingly comes out of your mouth can be quite - interesting.

 

When I was in second or third grade the neighbor lady picked us up from school, and as we pull into their driveway I, from the back seat, said, "Mama...".

 

Don't remember what I said to her but I do remember calling her Mama.

 

That's a little embarrassing, but it could be worse.

 

My 11th grade history teacher was Mrs Cope. Teresa Cope was one of the students in that class. She always called the teacher "Mrs Cope", and I didn't even make the connection until one day she raised her hand and said, "Mama I need..."
