They have not had dial telephones for decades. But still, when you call somebody, you dial their number.

They have not had manually operated windows in automobiles for decades, but you still roll the window up and down

The teacher gave out the assignment. "I want 10 pages, double spaced, typewritten..."

Typewritten? Nobody uses a typewriter anymore.

Do people still use that term - typewritten?

How many people still use or even have a typewriter?  I do. Because for typing addresses on envelopes it is easier to use than reset the confuser's printer to handle the envelope.

I was thinking about buying one to finish a story I’m writing and for some other things.

let me ask - how do you make your calls - pushing the little numbers on your phone  ? do you call it pushing or punching ? just curious  , i dial ..............

how do you write in your computer - i use a keyboard which is in fact a typewriter keyboard , but heyt tell me what you do on your keyboard ? i type ..........

you still have to manually push the button on your power window - what do you do ? wish it down ? mine is still manual in that i have to manipulate the button/switch  ,

im not one to get too bent out of shape over terms , i still use some that others find obsolete i think , but ill never give in to all the revisionist renaming oof things we all know in the interest of some agenda to make it sound better or acceptible in some cases - crime is always going to be crime , history shall remain history , some of the manual things we do shall remain what we are doing - till you get a robot to do it or AI - we are sorta there when you ask siri

The only addresses I put on an envelope is for personal items that I’m buying or for 3 day shoots. Everything else is online.

I still do all of those things mentioned above.

In addition I “turn on the light” by saying “Alexa, turn on the light”. She seems to understand what I want as I’m not walking around in the dark finding the furniture by brail navigation.

To me typewritten as opposed to hand written.

Dad sent me to typing school at age twelve so I would get better grades on my papers.

I thank him regularly.
