Alpo Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I was thinking about how today is Father's Day and traditionally the children are supposed to bring you breakfast in bed. You know, lumpy oatmeal, burnt eggs, raw bacon, black toast, weak coffee. I don't like breakfast in bed. I like my meals to be sitting on something solid. You're in the bed, and you move, and the mattress wiggles and everything on the plate wiggles also. Or if you just have it in your lap, that's even worse. Mother's Day is even better, because the children completely destroy the kitchen making this lovely Mother's Day breakfast, and then you, the mother, have to clean up the mess. 2 Quote

When I was a child, my Dad would get up early on Mother's Day, make breakfast for Mom, and then get her up to come downstairs to eat. 1 Quote

Pat Riot Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I do not like breakfast or any meal or snack in bed. If I am having breakfast in bed it’s because I am in the hospital and immobile. When my daughter was a little girl she made me breakfast in bed for my birthday and on Father’s Day a couple of times. It definitely wasn’t traditional breakfast food. 😆 It was pretty much leftovers microwaved to beyond perfection. 1 1 Quote
