Texas Lizard Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Use to be some what easy....Now you have verify, second layer of the process....One place tell we will send a code number within 5 minutes....I wait and wait and wait...No number....Try again, and wait and wait...No number....More and more I see verify...Sometimes it goes easy....Sometimes not....After 3 hours of trying, off and on....I tend to walk away...Get fresh air...Than see if my day is ready to try again... John Kloehr Posted June 5 Posted June 5 2FA and MFA. 2-Factor Authentication or Multi-Factor Authentication. The idea is to combine something you know (password, and even the login name) with something you have (phone or eMail). So prove you know and prove you have something only you have. It has become necessary for banking, benefits, other purposes. PITA but good to know I can not transfer money from one bank account to another without providing more proof than a lucky scammer who used a password guesser program for a long time and managed to get your password. Also every now and then a password file gets stolen, and then the software can attack at full speed, which is why passwords should be changed once in a while. By the time the password is cracked, it is no longer any good. But people do not change passwords, so 2FA or MFA fills the gap. The scammer only has half of what is needed. Every now and then I get a text or eMail with a code from some place. Delete and ignore, or better yet, go change your password for that site, then delete and ignore. 1 Quote

Life's too short for that crap and there's almost nothing that I need or want bad enough to play those Mickey mouse games. Quote
