Alpo Posted June 7 Posted June 7 At least it does answer a question I had. Every other uniform, that I am aware of, buttons with the standard buttoning. Men's coats and shirts button left over right, while women's coats and shirts button right over left. I wondered if they would do that with the diagonal roll buttons and then being on the side. Apparently not. The women all are buttoned the same way that men are - left over right on the right side. Quote

watab kid Posted June 8 Posted June 8 im OK with it , but then i dont wear it , im glad we now have a branch to manage this area as it IS going to be important in the future , muf=ch like the armys digital new cammo a few years ago , you just gotta get used to it - i have a pair of waders in that cammo a friend said he couldnt see me downstream when i was wading - seems to work well , but them the coat i was wearing was VN era cammo so not sure what he really diddnt see 0 in my heart i think he was fishing , not looking for me 2 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted June 8 Author Posted June 8 I think that most of us found it funny because not only is it evocative of Star Trek dress uniforms, which are no sillier than any other uniforms, but paired with the insignia which, in spite of official denials, seems heavily influenced by Star Trek communication badges gave lots of fodder for ridicule about Space Cadet wannabes. Also, "Space Force," brings to mind so much pulp and B-movie Science Fiction involving the Whoever Space Force, and grand Space Navies. The public affairs and perception aspects were not well thought out. 1 Quote

The Air Force, and later the Army, have had a space operations badge for decades (the Army copied the Air Force's badge in 1998 and simply produced the same badge in Army colors). And even though the badges may post date the TV show / movies, it has always been the map symbol for a satellite ever since we first launched one in 1958.
